What happens when the face of a countrys anti-corruption movement suddenly is investigated for the sort of bribery he once condemned?
Ukraine, a U.S. ally and neighboring foe of Russia, is soon to find out. And its a case with implications in the United States, where the fallout from the unproven Trump-Russia collusion scandal has engulfed several Ukrainians.
The countrys chief corruption prosecutor on Thursday opened an investigation into suspicions that Serhiy Leshchenko, a crusading anti-corruption member of Ukraines parliament and former investigative journalist, accepted bribes in 2016 from a Russian source that enabled him to buy a luxury condo far above his means. Leshchenko previously has denied any wrongdoing. The 2016 purchase of his condo was investigated once before and he was cleared of criminality. Now, however, the allegation of foreign bribe money adds an element.
On Thursday, Leshchenko responded to the new investigation on Twitter, suggesting it was evidence that his anti-corruption crusade was hurting prosecutors, who he said were trying to keep their jobs as a new Ukrainian president takes office. It won't work, you coward, he added.
A Ukrainian court last December ruled that Leshchenko and the head of the countrys National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) an investigative agency modeled on Americas FBI both illegally meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election by leaking financial documents that smeared then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.

So. Leshchenko is after Bidens to hide his own corruption?
Does it mean Bidens did nothing wrong? The good old attack the messenger stuff. Don’t mess with the deep state!
“...court last December ruled that Leshchenko and the head of the countrys National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) an investigative agency modeled on Americas FBI both illegally meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election by leaking financial documents that smeared then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.”
Doesn’t sound like he’s “after” Biden but rather is in search of a deal for spilling the beans on his anti Trump activities possibly with Biden’s involvement.
You first need to understand the way it works there. Double-dealing is a norm there.
Previous Ukrainian government is a product of Brennan’s engineered coup. Obama, Hillary, Biden supported overthrowing of their previous duly elected leader who had Manafort working for him.
The Manafort prosecution was an initiative of a Ukrainian coup government. They used it to return favor to Hillary for her support and also to set scores with Yanukovich - a previous president.
They believed Trump has no chances to get elected but helping Hillary against him by bringing down Manafort would give them some scores.
The winds changed after elections and so did their allegiances.
Why didn’t Giuliani travel to Kiev as announced? Newly elected Ukrainian president is trying to distance from US politics. Helping Giuliani might backfire in case if Democrats would win the next elections.

From the Washington Post, May 11, 2019
Giuliani said he was calling off the trip because there were enemies of Trump on the team of Zelensky, a comedian with no previous political experience who toppled President Petro Poroshenko in a runoff election last month.
Zelensky who played Ukraines president on a popular TV show has pledged to fight corruption and push to end the war against Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Many Ukrainian officials see U.S. support as a key deterrent preventing Russian President Vladimir Putin from encroaching further on their territory.
Western diplomats in Kiev have voiced concerns that Zelensky, given his lack of political experience, could be outmatched in negotiations with Putin.

May 11, 2019 Update
Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's personal attorney, said Friday on "Fox News @ Night" that he will not be traveling to Ukraine as previously announced.
Giuliani, a former Republican mayor of New York City, said that he believed he would be "walking into a group of people that are enemies of the president, and in some cases, enemies of the United States and in one case, an already convicted person who has been found to be involved in assisting the Democrats with the 2016 investigation.
"There was a great fear that the new [Ukrainian] president would be surrounded by, literally, enemies of the president [of the United States] who were involved in that and people who are involved with other Democratic operatives," he told host Shannon Bream. ..."

From CBS News
May 10, 2019...
In an interview on Fox News The [Laura] Ingraham Angle Thursday night [May 9, 2019], Giuliani said that as Mr. Trumps lawyer, he has an obligation to develop explanations of what his client was charged with.
The fact is, this was a massive collusion between the Democratic National Committee, officials of the Obama administration, (Hillary) Clinton people, and the Ukrainian officials, corrupt officials who, by the way, were pro-Russian corrupt officials to create false information about Trump..."
This is this is real [collusion] not collusion conspiracy to present false information, and to leak it to the press, and to give it to the FBI, he claimed.
