n early April, South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski had two concerns. His boss, Mayor Peter Buttigieg, was preparing to formally announce his presidential run.

The blighted Rust Belt city, riddled with gangs and bodies, was Buttigieg's platform.

The bodies were Chief Ruszkowski's other concern.

Another fatal shooting had happened a day earlier. A reporter asked him how many shootings had taken place in South Bend. The top cop's (response) was both bitter and evasive. “After one shooting, I stop counting because all of these shootings are frustrating and make me sick to my stomach."

Buttigieg can't clean up and apparently can't run his city...how does he expect to run a country....

"He couldn’t run a city of a hundred thousand, let alone a nation of over three hundred million."

Who is pulling Pete's strings?....he has no business running for POTUS...it is laughable and dangerous.

South Bend is known nationwide due to Notre Dame. The city is about the size of Nashua NH. Would anyone support the idea of the mayor of Nashua becoming president? Go be the governor of Indiana and get back to us in 8 to 10 years...

Ahhh yes, "Catholic" Notre Dame, who is the primary reason that Buttwipe was elected Mayor, because of support from Notre Dame faculty and students.

Mayor’s Pete’s claim to fame is that he used infrastructure money to ‘brighten-up’ the downtown area. Beyond that, most folks around the town don’t really talk much about this era. He’s your average mayor of a town that was losing 3-to-5 percent of its population every decade since the 1960s.

Mayor Pete runs a middling sized city poorly: Presidential!

Sarah Palin runs a large energy rich border state well: Inexperienced!

The violent crime rate and property crime rate in South Bend is nearly twice the national average; the violent crime rate and property crime rate in Nashua is about 25% below the national average. However, given the demographics in both cities, Nashua has an unfair advantage.
