I’m not actually optimistic - the perps are pretty smart and they know how to cover their tracks. In other words, this ain’t the 90 IQ Sicilian goombahs who keep getting nailed by the FBI, but 120 or 130 IQ Machiavelli types who climbed to the top of the civil service, and understand plausible deniability. Getting Slick Willy’s cronies through the Whitewater investigation was easier because there was a money trail, and the perps were not particularly bright local elites. In fact, Mueller nailed some of Trump’s people in the course of his witch hunt, including Michael “Judas” Cohen, because there were unrelated (lobbying- and hush money-related) money trails. Bottom line is I think the principals in this coup attempt against Trump have a good chance of skating. If Barr pulls this off, he’ll never have to buy another drink anywhere there’s a Republican at the bar.
And Trump fulfills another campaign promise ......to “drain the swamp”.
I’m sure there’s a memorandum to Comey saying just what Brennan and Clapper claim. All they have to do is produce it.
Which implies the obvious question: How much of this has been done in the past, that we are unaware of?
I wish I had been a fly on the wall when they coordinated their stories.

I can believe Comey pushed for the dossier but I suspect Brennan and Clapper are lying here. They were behind anything they thought might stop Trump.
This sounds like a typical childs “I told Johnny not to eat the cookies” argument.

As an aside to all of this, I find it interesting that there is suddenly a plethora of “getting out my popcorn” comments versus the predictable and tiresome “not holding my breath” comments.

So to answer my own question - Brennan lost his security clearance in August 2018. Just a couple of month before Baker’s testimony, where the transcript shows the Durham investigation was ongoing in October 2018.

Clapper was the Director of DIA when he was still on active duty, then the Director of NIMA (now NGA) and the DNI, but Clapper was NEVER the DIRNSA.
I think it’s amusing that Brennan and Clapper are joining forces to throw Comey under the bus. However, Brennan and Clapper have been much louder critics of Trump and parroting the “Russia, Russia, Russia” bullshit far more than Comey. I don’t see either of them urging caution, but primarily because they never thought they’d get caught.
Put them all in the same cell throwin 1 knife and turn out the lights. Last Man Standing was innocent.
