Evidently the police don’t believe the church doesn’t know more about Parades than they are telling.
And the cops are probably right.

Dallas church officials have said they alerted law enforcement last year of allegations from three adults who said Paredes sexually abused them when they were in their mid-teens. The allegations were found to be credible, the church said.
The Dallas diocese suspended Paredes, and he's no longer allowed to function as a priest, the church said.
