The Texas State Senate passed a bill out of the Senate Affairs Committee Monday that has opponents clucking over chicken sandwiches and religious freedom. Extraordinary measures were taken, but a companion bill to one that died in the Texas House last week was introduced and advanced to the full Senate. The bill, Senate Bill 1978, is on the Senates intent calendar for Tuesday. The legislation is all about preserving religious freedom and tasty Chick-fil-A sandwiches, too.
... Its too bad that it is now necessary for the state government to step in to protect the rights of business owners and their ability to support the religious charities of their choice. This legislation has been instigated due to the publicity garnered recently by Chick-fil-A but it will protect all businesses, regardless of liberal or conservative bias. In the case of Chick-fil-A, the franchise doesnt discriminate against gay employees or customers. If a member of a minority community feels uncomfortable supporting any business solely due to that businesss financial contributions, the option of purchasing chicken sandwiches (in the case of Chick-fil-A) elsewhere is available. Trying to shut down a business is wrong and should not be silently tolerated.
Speaking of “clucks”, the DIMocRATS & the “LGBTQ caucus” of the legislature fit the description of “DUMB CLUCKS” & leftist MORONS, very well.

Every one that I visit is swamped with business and has the most customer oriented staff imaginable. If communities dont want them they will just loose the sales tax and the employee income. Their loss.
AGREED 100%.
Right now, the IDIOTS of our city council won’t allow CHICK-FIL-A as a food vendor at our international airport.
I found it FUNNY that one of those LEFTIST IDIOTS was STUPID enough to state in public that he didn’t want that company at the AP because, “They would be successful at SAT. I don’t want that to happen in San Antonio.”
“Stupid is as stupid does” applies to him in spades.

Texas ping, y’all...
[[The legislation is all about preserving religious freedom and tasty Chick-fil-A sandwiches,]]
Pretty sad that we now have to introduce bills in order to protect inalienable rights!
Chick-Fil-A is incredibly efficient. The one near me gets so crowded that cars in the drive thru can be out on the main street and a moment later, theyve all been processed out. At most restaurants, I wouldnt wait in a line that long, but I know it wont be a problem at CFA. One time, I went in a second before a busload of choir kids hit the line. As I waited a couple of minutes for my food, the entire line of kids had already had their orders taken.
If you know of a decent-sized city that has no Chick-Fil-A, open one. Its a license to print money.
The headline of this article could have been “Chick Fil A beats Chicken Shits”.
Thanks for the good news ping :-)
There are certain businesses I don’t patronize and certain products I don’t buy because I disagree with the companies represented.
That’s my choice. That’s my right.
What I DON’T have is the right to prevent other people from patronizing those businesses or urchasing those products.
If you don’t want to support Chick-Fil-A, don’t!! It’s really simple.
I agree with you. Sadly,, the liberals don’t agree with such common sense tolerance of a business they choose to avoid patronizing. Instead, as we all know, the liberals have targeted Chick Fil A for destruction.
The liberals who instigate all these problems don’t follow the same logic or common sense tolerance that you and I do.
Huh? That response is to me? Where did i say i don’t want to support Chik Fil-A?
You have misunderstood what i meant- My statement was simply about the sad sad fact that what SHOULD BE an unassailable inalienable right, now is being attacked by the left so severely, to the point that we have to pass bills to FURTHER PROTECT something- (Not shouting, just stressing the point) It could be Chick Fil-A, or Sweet Dreams Bakery, or even a church event-
We should not have to be passing laws that ‘protect’ what is already protected by our constitution- does that clear it up some? The fact that we now have to pass MORE bills to protect what was already protected means that our constitutional rights are being eroded little by little- Our constitution SHOULD BE written in stone and unassailable- but sadly we’re seeing it eroded away to the point where we have to pass further bills to ‘prop it up’
Awesome. Hope they pass it.
Dumb. dumb, dumb. A lot of fast food workers act like they want you to leave. Chick-Fil-A acts like they want you to come back.
“Right now, the IDIOTS of our city council wont allow CHICK-FIL-A as a food vendor at our international airport.”
I am presuming you are from San Antonio?
YEP.

Grateful for the ping!
Made rather a footnote in a rambling article is the Key point that is:
SENATE BILL #1978.
Filed by SENATOR BRIAN HUGHES.
SCHEDULED for May 27th.
TO BE HEARD BY THE WHOLE SENATE.
Prayers up, and supportive Action needed.
*May God bless TEXAS.
Senator BRYAN Hughes. (not Brian)
I’m afraid you misunderstood me.
When I said “if you don’t want to support” I was using “you” to refer to “any person.” Perhaps I should have said “any person.”
I agree that our individual choices in matters like what products to purchase, what businesses to patronize, and so forth, should not require legal protection.
If, and where, I choose to purchase a chicken sandwich should not be anyone else’s business any more than whether I buy Jif or Peter Pan or store-brand peanut butter.
ok- misunderstanding on both our parts lol- no worries- i agree-
