Who knew the Browns had fans?
In a free economy, nobody makes too much or too little money.
*********
I think they make too much money, but I defend their right to make it.
Yes. Way too much.. and then to see the insolence so many of these pampered overpaid yurks insult fans and followers alike and the tolerance of the league owners and leadership as these same jocks spread chaos as they claim discrimination and abuse and wave the Me Me Me flag, no wonder ratings will continue to decline in football and baseball stadiums and eventually profits..
Golden Gee$e can live a long time or they can die an early death at the hands of their benefactors thru abuse and poor stewardship.
I Freep mailed you the name. For privacy’s sake.
Thanks for that, but I hadn’t heard of him...no wiki page either
No, and I was wrong. He is not in the Hall of Fame.
Yes.
Well, you’re right about people allowing big bucks to ruin rather than improve their lives.
Great example of Natural Selection
Some do, some dont. Warren Buffett is worth 86.6 billion, lives a happy middle-class life in Omaha and is giving all of his money away, leaving zero to wives, children and relatives. His kids are very successful on their own.
They make whatever the market will bear. Just like everyone else.
If cable tv was not around they would get paid less. The stations are guaranteed lots of money whether anyone watches or not. Cities / taxpayers subsidizing the owners of the teams with building of the stadiums.
Point is, Americans will pay handsomely to be entertained. So whats the beef?
Liberals couldn’t care less what celebrities make, but they protest CEO pay, which is far less.
No.
It’s demand and supply. The more popular the sport, the more the top players get paid and the fewer years of earning potential.
If people stopped watching baseball and going for professional games there would be fewer sponsors and salaries would crash.
I don’t watch professional sports but I am in a minority
That’s not living, that’s working.
I would turn down 100 million or 100 billion. There is more to life than money.
As someone said, “I have been rich and I have been poor. Rich is better”
Rich people like poor people are responsible for the decisions they make. The pure fact is having money widens your options in a bad situation.
You appear to be saying that in your case anyway having a lot of money will in and of itself make you unhappy.
That could happen but only if you allow it to happen.
Money has no will, no motives, no ability to change you. Only you can change you.
That day, the best will be throwing 130/hr — and still raking it in.
I do believe that baseball and football are both in long-term decline, however, the former for boredom and the latter for safety concerns.
