I give Bernie Sanders a lot of credit for being honest about his political beliefs and intentions. Not only is he openly socialist, he also is open about his desire to stick it to taxpayers to pay for his dreams. Best of all, his honesty can be used against all the other Dems running for president supporting Medicare for all.
Yesterday, in a TV interview in Iowa, he admitted that Medicare for all would not onlyend private insurance, but that people would pay higher taxes to pay for it. Here is a two-munute video from Channel 8 in Des Moines, which, the interviewer notes, is the “second largest” insurance industry center:

“There are people who would like to keep their private insurance,” says the reporter interviewing Sanders. She asks “Is that possible under that plan?”
Bernie responded with a quick “NO” before singing the praises of the current Medicare program.
He goes on to say that “what Medicare For All does is it eliminates your private health insurance…premiums.”
And directly follows that with:
You’re not going to be paying that. You’re not going to be paying co-payments. You’re not going to be paying deductibles. …Will you be paying more in taxes? Yes you will!“
The last Democrat who ran for president promising higher taxes was Walter Mondale:

The 47% who pay no taxes don’t give a hoot about this. As long as everything is “Free” ( note the quotes ), they’re OK with it.

Bernie’s fantasy would crush the finances of the Dem thugs that support him. Would almost be worth it for that alone.

Bernie’s plan would quickly turn into standing in long lines at a government clinic for a 15min visit with a nurse practitioner, rationed care and trillions in new taxes. While the rest of us wait for care in a third rate government hospital, places like the Mayo Clinic will be catering to Middle East potentates and the elites like Bernie. Don’t think for a minute that members of Congress and government elites will be under the same Medicare for all system
The Democrats are betting on the concept that most voters are complete fools. The Democrats think this is true. They hope this is true.
Trump is going to educate the voters. They won’t be so easily fooled.
And, Sanders is the perfect representative for the loony left; the ex hippies; the millennials hiding/living in mom’s basement.

The media will claim that this is a compelling argument in favor of the “Trump is Hitler” idea that all right-thinking people believe. But the media’s credibility is pretty low. I think voters are going to say, “That’s the best you can do??”
I am continually stunned by the Liberals I encounter who truly BELIEVE that Trump is Hitler.
Obviously they don’t know jack about the actual Hitler.
If Trump kills 20 million people, come back and we’ll talk.
The elimination of premiums combined with decoupling HC form employment are VERY GOOD ALLURING THINGS. So Republicans better have answer for those two things.

Then it wouldn’t be Medicare - it would be Federally controlled Medicaid...in a degraded form.

Told my wife that if the Dems pass medicare for all then I’ll retire. No sense in paying bernies taxes when I can retire and get healthcare for free. She was not amused.
