Rosenstein is speaking out because the he knows the direction of the political wind. Now he needs to win favor to escape punishment or at least negotiate a lesser one. Comey is twisting in the wind at this point without much hope.
Comey and Rosenstein both share the same weasely, traitorous nature. It is how they rose to the top in the Swamp. They should hold each other and everyone else like them in contempt.
I suspect he was Deep State when he talked about wearing a wire. But apparently he never wore a wire when consulting with Trump. He probably changed allegiances after realizing he could be in Deep Trouble. His testimony will be interesting, if the Dems let him testify. Will likely have to be in the Senate, because the Leftists will never let him testify in the House.
Rosenstein is a big government advocate, and not to be trusted, not any more than Comey or Wray or anybody else who reaches that level of power. It is nigh impossible for an honorable and honest person to be allowed that level.
It might not not work as a slogan, but he should use it at a few rallies.

I will be just fine with that as long as he brings down that traitor Comey. He’s been fairly consistent ever since he wrote the memo justifying Trump’s reasons to fire him. All things considered I will forgive him if he can bring down the deep State coup plotters.

I agree, although I don’t think anyone, including Rosenstein, gets a “free walk”. More likely, he got a deal for 2-5 instead of 20-25. And his coat and tie life of practicing law is over.
Comey is a dirty cop who will have a legacy of being a buffoon, political hack and the worst FBI director in history. Good job Jim.
