Oh yeah, I’ve heard the radio ads. I don’t think a suit against Monsanto is unwinnable, but $2B? Might as well be $100 Gazillion. They’ll never get that, either.

“I hope y’all like weeds with your produce.”

Pulling weeds by hand is something even Gender Studies majors can do. At least the ones who are not morbidly obese.

So, more weeds means less produce. Less produce means higher prices. Higher prices mean people eat fewer vegetables. Eating fewer vegetables means more cancer. I wonder which cause will have a greater effect.

Yes, and with specialized training,
they can even aspire to ‘watering.’

“$2 BILLION? An impossibly large number”

Let me break it down for you.

You know a meter stick is about 39 inches long, just a little bigger than a yard stick.

Lay 12 of them end to end, that’s the length of a railroad rail.

Now pretend it’s not an ordinary railroad rail, but a California High Speed Railway Rail. That’s about $1 billion worth.

So double it.

See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?

As a former kali resident and being called for jury duty twice, although never having to actually serve, I can assure you, no matter how low an opinion you have of those people? You’re still giving them more credit than they deserve. They are even worse.

my great grandpa died of old age but every farmer from my grandpa’s generation in our area died of some form of cancer, the usual places for people exposed to chemicals My uncle quit farming when i was 22 so i stopped using roundup like that. Now its a couple days a year in the yard. It seems this started with the generation that fsrmed in the 1950s and on.

:-)

I have been a lawyer for thirty-five years. I can honestly say that a good 90% of the lawyers I have dealt with in my career are highly ethical and far more than most people realize are conservatives politically. There's an old joke that 99% of lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. Based on my experience, 10% of lawyers give the other 90% a bad name. I focus on real estate and business law, though, which tends to attract higher caliber people, both intellectually and ethically, than other disciplines. Unfortunately, scumbags like Avenatti tend to get most of the attention.

How can a jury decide what causes cancer?

It should be clarified it wasn’t Agent Orange being linked to the non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma but a contaminant - Dioxin - in the herbicide mix that allegedly caused the lymphomas.

I have heard the commercials but I haven’t stopped to look at the screen to see who is running them? I figured it was some public service announcement but maybe not.

I mix the concentrate in a gallon jug of water for spraying on weeds but I’m not careless with it and I’m not going to be concerned about poisoning myself. I’m happy to see the weeds die!!

As a horticulturalist, nurseryman and plantsman for over 35yrs, I've never heard of any of the thousands of industry people I've known, get NHL. Never.

Tens of millions of consumers have used Round-Up without any ill effects. It's sad that a few thousand contracted NHL, but I'd bet $10 that it wasn't glyphosate that caused their illness. A big payday is what it's all about. Same for the "second-hand smoke" bullshit. Nothing's ever been proved. I'm a Marlboro smoker of 53yrs, and have the lungs of a 12yr old.

If you've ever eaten carrots, brocolli, snow peas or chicken etc etc etc, chances are that you'll eventually get some disease that'll kill you.

Not reading directions and not taking common-sense precautions, just shows the idiocy of some people.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is caused by a wide variety of things: plenty of medical articles here.

This whole lawsuit against Monsanto and glyphosate is total bullshit. They have deep pockets and the slip-and fall lawyer scum/filth/garbage are simply seeing a HUGE payday.

"... “probably carcinogenic in humans.”..." is NO BASIS FOR ANY LAWSUIT, let alone something on this scale.

Been using it and other weed killer for years. Do I cover up and wear a face mask? Yep; most the time.

The EPA has said for 40 years that glyphosates don’t cause cancer. If it could be proven that it does then the EPA is who should be sued but good luck getting much out of it.

I think Bayer will win this in the end.
