How is she going to be replaced? Does the governor appoint a replacement (obviously a dem) who would then be able to run as an incumbent? Or will a special election be held?

A Weld Democrats vacancy committee will decide Galindo’s replacement. At this time, it is unknown who will serve on the committee.

A vacancy committee composed of Dems will meet and appoint her successor.

Standard D tactic here in CO when a recall is about to succeed.
