A Weld Democrats vacancy committee will decide Galindo’s replacement. At this time, it is unknown who will serve on the committee.
IOW, by resigning now, the Dems are guaranteed to keep the seat. Which would not be the case if the was recalled.
The vacancy committee has already been selected months ago by the D’s. That’s by statute. The tribune may not know who it is. But it’s already selected and the Secretary of State ought to have the names in an official filing the D’s do.
