Christos Anesti!
I dunno, either.
I was told by an Antiochian Orthodox Bishop that in the “old country” of Syria it was very common for Christians to invite their Muslims neighbors to their Pascha feasts and for the invitation to be reciprocated with invitations by the Muslims to Eid Al Fatir feasts. “And then ISIS took over and they destroyed everything.”
Now if the Governor would like some tips on spit roasting a lamb for next Pascha...
Alithos Anesti!
Hristos vaskrse!
In my neck of the woods, the major mosques are run by the muslim Brotherhood, and they have tricked some naive young Christians into bowing to “Allah”! YIKES!!!! Time for Confession!
I don’t think that many muslims would enjoy the Serbian Orthodox Pascha feast (including spit-roasted pork and lamb and wine) that I attended, or the Baptismal feast (including two pork products and wine) that I attended at my OCA parish this morning.
The old Syrian Christian-muslim amity is gone, and may be difficult to replicate. But we are called to evangelize our muslim neighbors via prayer and gentle exhortation!
Vaistinu vaskrse!!!!
