Don't forget to tape that thread. :)
I have a bunch of Winchester .308 I got for 15c the rd.
Not sad at all.
Even better prices on the Aussie and SA Nato stuff, then there is the French stuff.
“You might be a redneck if your mother has twice been the subject of an episode of True Stories of the Highway Patrol.”
LOL, luckily I don’t fit in with that one!
TY for the mother’s day wishes.
I’ve always understood that the standard was to have 1000 rounds of ammo per caliber firearm that you have. Some would say 1000 rounds per firearm, but most of mine are all the same caliber so my goal is to always have 1000 of the one-offs, and 2K of 9MM. You rotate old to new and are pretty much ready for anything.
“Now, at 85, I can only carry about 5 loaded 30-rnd mags.”
Grandpa, if the day comes that we have to fight to keep (or restore), our freedom, you’ll still be in this fight. Take heart and read about Samuel Whittenmore, who, at age 80, killed three British Redcoats at the Battles of Lexington and Concord:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Whittemore
I would throw in 20 gauge with that.
That is a good idea!
Fascinating article. It shows just how far we have gone, without many even realizing It. Terrifying, actually.
Save for Later,,,
Thanks.
80 yrs old,
Lexington and Concord
takes out 3 redcoats!
Go get’em!
Gee, after reading this I think I’ll add a 1000 rounds of everything today.
The people I associate with clearly recognize that the communists are a deadly threat to us and are prepped to put up a fight. Of all the various scenarios for militia level struggle though, I think house to house gun confiscation is very low. Red States would secede from a communist run government which tore up the constitution and civil war would ensue.
I’m still betting on an EMP attack on the grid as the most likely scenario. It is a cheap way to kill 90% of all Americans fairly quickly. Tribes of like minded would naturally band together.
All the waitresses at my favorite bars would be invited to join my tribe for protection, food and water in return for breeding privileges. It’a a deal that they can’t refuse.
Yea, my buddy reloads. He keeps the powder under his bed to keep it cool. Reloading is a very valuable skill.
When the days of the walking dead arrive, I’ll join his clan. He can build and fix anything. I’ll be the cook.
I read that the other day. It dovetails quite nicely with my tagline.

Insurgents fill their stomachs with food taken as needed from other parties in the area. That taking process usually involves arms, and at least the perception of the people with the food of the willingness of the insurgents to use their ammo.
Of course governments take food at gunpoint all the time as well. Ask any Venezuelan or North Korean farmer.
I have heard that in tough situations cigarettes and hard liquor are much better for bartering from someone with personal knowledge of such a situation. Other items useful for recreation could also be relevant.
The British shot him, and bayoneted him, and left him for dead. He was found by fellow patriot militia men trying to reload his musket.
Whittemore lived another 18 years, and should stand as an example to everyone of extreme bravery and dedication to freedom and our nation.
I recommend to visitors in the Boston area that they go to the battle sites in Lexington, Concord, and Arlington. It is worth the time to stand in front of the markers and think about what those men did.
I’ve read that account,,,
“William Diamonds Drum” ,,,,?
Thanks!
“This article is about the only one that maps it out clearly and disturbingly.”
Yes, it does. It is long but it’s important to read all of it in order to get the historical perspective. Thinking about trying to post it as often as I can and share it with as many people as I can.
