I do appreciate you like the sport, Danz. I just couldn’t.

I love football and baseball.

Haven’t watched basketball since the Great Celtics of the 1980s. Back when I was stationed on Cape Cod went to lots of games at the Boston Garden. Got tickets from the USO whenever I asked. Met Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Bill Walton, Chief Parrish, DJ, Danny Ange. Greatest ever team!

Same, was a Celtics fan and went to the Garden once. Went to HS with Ainge’s older brother. He was nearly as talented as Danny but not quite.

Their dad played for the Ducks and was intensely into making them into ball players. They were all Mormons and dad was kinda strange about it.

The greatest team ever in terms of records was the Boston Celtics of the Bill Russell era. 11 NBA titles in 13 years. My favorite team in any sport.

Those were the years that Boston fans enjoyed the Celtics, the Red Sox, the Bruins and even the Patriots who made a great run until Russ Francis broke his leg against Ditcka's Bears.

There is very little difference between Basketball and Soccer - pitch is bigger, a few more players and feet vs. Hands. The same tactics apply, the same quantity of physical contact. Players who have vision of the whole field make for a great game.

What soured me on Basketball in the mid-late 80's was the lack of refereeing - No fouls were called on "start" players like Chocolate Thunder, no walking was called.

The passing game and the Three point game of the late 70s/early 80s Celtics was fun to watch.

I moved to Hunspatch Al. in 86. The Hsv Stars had the Conseko brothers, McGwuire and the Third basemen (cannot remember his name) All went on to the Majors.

First time I went to the stadium I set on the First base side, beer in hand. The crazy Baptists told me that side of the stands was a NO Alcohol side - so all the rest of the time I went to the Starts games I sat on the Third base site. Great stadium, fun place to watch baseball

The Celtics...what a team...I don’t follow the NBA as much as I used to, but I still glance to see how the Celts are doing...Baseball and Hockey...
