Diversity is our strength. So I am told in almost every communication from the university I attended. So I am told in every corporate diversity seminar managers are required to attend. So I am told in the mainstream media everyday.

One of the greatest mysteries of our time is how people who claim to be the intellectual elite seem to value diversity of skin color over diversity of thought.

Causes of groupthink:

-excessive trust in the collective
-excessive cohesiveness of the collective
-excessive fear/anxiety and/or guilt experienced by members of the collective
-unrealistic opinion of the efficacy of the collective
-leaders with an excessive lust for power over the collective
-excessive conformity to the collective

Signs of groupthink

-closed minds resistant to diversity of opinions
-censorship & self-censorship
-nondeviation from perceived collective consensus
-social pressure to conform to the collective’s beliefs/norms
-refusal to discus/analyze alternative courses of action
-discouragement of dissenting views
-refusal to permit criticism/questions that “rock the boat”
-rationalizing behaviors to reduce stress/anxiety
-defensive responses that result in group members fooling/deceiving themselves & losing their grip on reality
-complacency in communication & process of decision making
-taking excessive risks
-being stubborn/thick headed/obsessive in holding on to failing courses of action

America’s universities are a large leftist politcal bloc, funded by massive government spending and massive debt upon governments and particularly students.
