The Army Corps of Engineers informed the Government Accountability Office's lawyers it had "reevaluated its decision" to give Barnard Construction Co. a contract to build more than seven miles of steel bollard fence near Yuma, Ariz.

"After further review, the Agency has decided to take corrective action to remedy a flaw in the acquisition process. The Agency will terminate for the convenience of the Government the contract that resulted from the Yuma Solicitation and will re-compete the requirement.

Fisher Industries' protest was valid, and that contract (one of the first two awarded with DoD funds) will be re-competed.

Fisher has also protested the other recent DoD funded contract (46 miles in New Mexico, awarded to SLSCO), but no word on that one yet.

Unbelievable incompetence, probably intentional to delay the project. Say what you want about obumber, but he sure was good at putting his people in all the right places. No thanks to rubber stamp that was a gopE congress.

Between Democrat obstructionism and government graft, it’ll be cause for celebration every time a single foot of the wall ever gets completed.

Just another deep state ploy!

Purpose is to give the local dems and environmental wackos more time to file suits...

Leave the contract out as is.

As a penalty to the gov’t, give all the other bidders a contract for 7 miles each, to be completed in the same time frame as the “problematic” Contract.

Win/Win

Barnard Construction Co. is run by a great man and he does much for my community.

I hope he gets many more miles of fence contracts.

Hasn’t Kelly bragged about how he tried to muck up Trump’s immigration initiatives when he ran DHS? And didn’t his protege just leave her post replacing him a month or so ago?

Hard to tell when government is intentionally undermining the will of the electorate—and when it is simply too corrupt and incompetent to get anything done.

Ha ha—give the other bidders contracts for 70 miles each.

Trump’s term is more than halfway through and they haven’t built ANY new ‘wall’/fence yet.

Probably Obama hold-overs. This may have been the plan in the works for years.

The contract that is being rescinded was awarded blazingly fast - weeks, instead of the many months that is typical.

So maybe they did try to pull a fast one, and basically sole source something that was supposed to be competed. Most protests are denied, so having one upheld is pretty significant.

I’d guess they are going to fast track the re-compete really hard, and get it re-awarded this Summer.

There are separate segments around Yuma that have been awarded with DHS funds, and those should be going forward undisturbed.

"Trump’s term is more than halfway through and they haven’t built ANY new ‘wall’/fence yet"

840 days since inauguration. Perhaps Pres Turmp is planning to use the ole' "cram the night before finals" method of fulfilling this MAIN CAMPAIGN PROMISE.

Hillary and Co still walking free, no wall....in 2020 it's "JUSTICE STUPID". Only the Godless greedy wing of the R party, AKA Never Trumpers, care more about the economy...yet that's all we keep hearing about.

Why hasn’t “We Will Build the Wall” started construction on private property, they have nearly 30 million in their account that could be used to start the wall on privately owned land, and for much less money than the government pays out. I have donated a small amount of money and would like to see if this was a real plan or a big fraud.
