Check out his Wikipedia entry. It refers to a "close friend" who passed away a few years ago.

He hasn't come out of the closet, but apparently his sexual orientation is one of the worst-kept secrets in the TV business.

I just checked out his Wikipedia page. They just mention that his longtime friend, James somebody, died in 2013. So that tells me he’s a homosexual. Everyone has longtime friends that have died - they don’t make the Wikipedia page.
