Can someone explain to me how going to war with North Korea—a war they start—helps anyone?

They know they would lose.
They know they would be taken over by the south.
They know China would not help.
They know Russia wouldn’t help.
They know they would be destroyed.

So, explain to me how going to war would be in their self interest?

North Korea’s mo is never start a War with the U.S. this saber rattling is too put increase maxim pressure on the Moon/Trump Administrations in getting sanctions relief I also think they’re testing these missiles for the Iranians in an attempt to give to them on the black market as well as increase their short range/medium range missile accuracy in an event they should decide too put warheads on them.

You don't understand, I don't fully understand it, but it worked in NK whereas communism more or less failed elsewhere.

NK is prepared for one salvo of tactical and strategic nukes; think of NK as a Glock that loads on the draw -- if they ever see more than 3 inbounds they can't identify, they are firing, going to the tunnels for 12-24 hours, then whatever's left of the worm-eaten Army will be ordered to go self-immolating apeshit on Seoul; while Ronery's mini-me's abroad sue for peace; while Fat Boy himself begs every potential AoE nation to go rogue and join them.

It'll all be over in a week, but will probably take a double-tap on Ping-Pong to get our desired result.

Note that when the US war-gamed this scenario within the past decade, the US initially lost the first round when Fat Boy fired everything at once. He tore up USPACFLT in theater, and you'll have to imagine what happened next cuz I ain't repeatin' it.
