Boston PD’s First Muslim Captain, Highest Paid City Employee, Put On Administrative Leave

Boston PD’s First Muslim Captain, Highest Paid City Employee, Put On Administrative Leave MAY 7, 2019 2:00 PM BY DANIEL GREENFIELD

The Minneapolis police are still reeling from the fallout after Mohamed Noor, the first Muslim Somali police officer on the force, shot and killed a woman who had called the police to report a possible rape.

Now the Boston cops appear to be dealing with their own ‘first’ fallout.

The first Muslim promoted to the rank of captain in the Boston Police Department was placed on administrative leave Monday — and the department is not explaining why.

Captain Haseeb Hosein has been the commander of the Area B-3 station that covers Mattapan and parts of Dorchester since 2014. … Hosein was promoted by former commissioner William B. Evans.

“This promotion speaks to the promise both Mayor Walsh and Commissioner Evans made to diversify the BPD’s Command Staff . . . We wish Haseeb . . . nothing but the best of success in his new position!”

It’s always about the diversity. Never about the competence.

Sergeant Detective John Boyle, the department’s chief spokesman, confirmed that Hosein was placed on administrative leave with pay Monday. He said Hosein is under investigation by the department’s Internal Affairs Unit.

The Globe reported in February that Hosein was the city’s highest paid employee, earning $366,232 in 2018. That total included $106,980 in detail pay, $62,696 in overtime pay, and regular pay of $146,893.

It’s odd that someone who was promoted not all that long ago was the highest paid employee in Boston.

According to a more recent report, he made almost $400,000.

It might be curious if the two were connected. Boston cops and the union are stonewalling questions about the Hosein investigation. That can provide cover for political pressure to be applied behind the scenes on the investigators looking into the diversity hire.

Hossein’s profile appears on “Boston stands with immigrants” where he claims that, “As an immigrant I am a living example of the greatness of this country.”

On his Twitter account, he tweets a story about the, “First Muslim police Captain in Boston working to educate people about his religion and unite community”.

>>As an immigrant I am a living example of the greatness of this country.”

Came here to do the jobs nobody here wants, and pulling in $300,000-400,000 to do it annually?

Does this mean that this Muslim Captain gets paid more than the police commissioner or mayor? Why? ecause he’s a member of the anointed class?

A most interesting question. Making the dhimmi dummies pay the zakat?

Usually Mayors/Commissioners don’t get paid cash overtime so they have a set salary. Boston PD Captains can evidently take their OT in cash, which throws their salary up a lot.

Boston PD, Boston Strong, Boston BS. Jackbooted thugs. The hunt for the bombing suspect was one of the most despicable chapters in American history. A stark warning of what our police forces are capable of.

Taxpayers have a right to know why an employee of theirs was fired.

Because he probably works 100 hours a week, and the city allows cops to pile up so much overtime and detail work so they are nearly asleep on their feet.

Better yet, some cops get to do this in their last couple of years on the job, so that their pension is based off of their boosted earnings.

His minority status may have gotten him the promotion, but he had to sign on for all the extra work.

The only consolation to me, as a taxpayer (although not in Boston) about this type of behavior is that the earnings are all taxed at the high wage (not dividend or capital gains) rate! Maybe that will eventually turn him into a fiscal conservative, haha.

Capable of what? Generalized ineptitude. Here in New Orleans as dysfunctional as it is this event was mocked. Comments were ‘Stay inside h-ll. Every other house would have had some guy with a rifle or shotgun sitting on the porch ‘jes watchin’ plus all the others in the back yard sittin’ out with some brews and their pistol(s).’

"...Captain Haseeb Hosain..."

The man was born in 1962 and has managed to trick the Boston Police Department for thirty years.
Can you imagine the massive pension he will drain from taxpayers for the next quarter-century if he retires tomorrow?

Just think what his pension will be if he gets an opportunity to file for disability at retirement.

He isn’t fired. He’s still receiving his salary.

I wonder if he can still get overtime while he isn’t working since he’s still getting paid even though he isn’t working.
