Intelligence showing that Iran is likely moving short-range ballistic missiles aboard boats in the Persian Gulf was one of the critical reasons the US decided to move an aircraft carrier strike group and B-52 bombers into the region, several US officials with direct knowledge of the situation told CNN on Tuesday.
The concerns over the movement of the missiles was one of multiple threads of intelligence from various sources that led the US to believe Iran had a capability and intention to launch strikes against US targets, the report said.
US Central Command spokesperson Capt. Bill Urban said they had seen "indications that Iranian and Iranian proxy forces were making preparations to possibly attack US forces in the region."
It's not clear if the Iran could launch the missiles from the boats or if they are transporting them to be used by Iranian forces on land.
The Pentagon is considering sending additional firepower to the region including anti-missile defense systems, the officials said.

Let’s pretend there was an “intelligence source” that did leak this. The other half of that question then becomes, how could anyone on FR be dumb enough to believe anything coming from the intelligence community given the last 2-3 years?

An organazation’s culture and guiding principles are reflections of its leadership at the top. If it stinks at the top the tree has rotted it’s fruit along its branches as well.

A big Amen to that! I am tired of selling the BS that apart from a few “bad apples at the top,” all our government workers are just wonderful servants of we the people. In my interactions with government employees, I find them almost to the man (woman) the most selfish, self-serving, people in the country, and that goes double for those who enforce our laws. They are simply the last of the union goons left.
If they sit there and just go along with the corruption then yes, they are also part of the problem. Like I said, thousands of FBI personnel and not even a small handful of 10-20 whistleblowers among the lot? Yes the rank and file aren’t as pure as the driven snow as Hannity makes them out to be.
