Authorities believe at least two people were injured in a shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
A ranking law enforcement source told Denver7 that at least one victim was shot and that one suspect was down. Authorities were looking for two other suspects, the source said.
The sheriff's office tweeted about 2:40 p.m. that the incident was an "active and unstable scene" at the STEM school, which is located off South Ridgeline Road and Plaza Drive. Authorities responded to the school about 1:50 p.m. on a report of shots fired, and deputies were still in the process of identifying and locating any shooters, the sheriff's office tweeted.

My first thought....then ....here we go again. So when are schools going to lock their doors get armed patrols etc?
That’s good to hear. When I did my substituting gig, in every school with a small percentage of whites, administrators were very careful to keep white students safe. It was up to the parents to be sure coming and going was safe.
Happened at the middle school section of the school
when you see that many ambulances at a school it just shows schools are certainly beginning to look like war zones against potential shooting incidents.
Would be awful to have a child that had done something infamous. After the Aurora theatre crime,cI read an article about that in relation to James Holmes’ family.
One of the unarmed students who helped take out a the gunmen is named Brendan Byly (sp?).
Its been reported that Brendan, a senior graduating this spring, is planning to join the Marines.
I’d prefer to focus on the heroism of these three young people than try to understand the sickness of the shooters.
Let’s all be thankful for their courage and selfless actions in saving themselves and their fellow students.
This school is definitely not like a school in the hood in Chicago as far as dangerousness, but it’s probably 90 to 95 percent “minority”.

Police Dispatch just said a “HISPANIC MALE WHO IDENTIFIES AS A FEMALE” is an associate of the “outstanding suspect.”

well I don’t see shooters as ‘sick’...no matter what their ages. I suspect this was planned just as so many others and if you planned it you know the difference between right and wrong.
Brendan will get his proper “hero” awards no doubt. But hero’s generally are never the focus with the media though they should be.
