Twitter supposedly allows parody and satire accounts on its platform. But those privileges seem to only apply to accounts mocking the GOP.
An account that parodied Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was suspended on May 6. The user, named Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Press Release, was permanently suspended because it was too similar to the Congressional representatives account. According to the Washington Examiner, the man running the account, Michael Morrison, received an email explaining his permanent suspension and ominously saying, This account will not be reinstated.
Michael Morrisons other account, OfficeOfMike, was also permanently suspended as being linked to the Ocasio-Cortez parody account. Morrison received an email from Twitter claiming rule violations as a reason for the suspension.
The email stated, You may not register or create fake and misleading accounts. While you may use Twitter pseudonymously or as a parody, commentary, or fan account, you may not use misleading account information in order to engage in spamming, abusive, or disruptive behavior including attempts to manipulate the conversations on Twitter. You also may not post duplicative or substantially similar content, replies, or mentions over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account, or create duplicate or substantially similar accounts. This account will not be reinstated.
Even though the account had the disclaimer (parody) in the username, it was still taken down. The account had 85,000 followers. Morrison had a following of 59,000 at the time of his own suspension.
Twitter has frequently taken down conservative parody accounts, including an account called Betos Journal that mocked former Democratic senate nominee Beto ORourke.
In other words, they couldn't tell the difference between her idiot tweets and those of the parody account... apparently she does a better job.
I think there should not be any accounts mocking anybody.
There should only be accounts of real people acting real.
It’s okay because POTUS said last week that he’s closely monitoring Twitter.
It’s social media. They just threw down a glove and made it a challenge.

What planet are you living on?
But its A OK to have twitter pages dedicated to mocking Conservatives, Sarah Palin, the GOP, calling for Trump’s assassination, that is all good..welcome to Communism folks, this is how it starts, a little bit at a time, til one day you wake up and wonder what the hell happened
So go put it on Gab, which everyone thinks is the conservative alternative to Twitter. Except no one will see it.
Libs win again.
I don’t do social media. That said, are there no enterprising Christian entreprenuers who can start a Facebook/Twitter style platform? I can’t even utilize the features on my smart phone, so I’m out. But there’s gotta be somebody out there.
Few people deserve to be mocked. It is very debasing.
However, having said that, any 29 year old who is scared by a garbage disposal deserves to be mocked. Yes, I know all about NYC’s law outlawing disposals. But that doesn’t excuse AOC’s response. She’s admitting she’s an idiot.
