After her shaggy boyfriend was called a “bin raccoon,” New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to social media to tout his new haircut.
The freshman Democratic congresswoman from the Bronx posted a video showing off beau Riley Roberts’ fresh look after people ripped him to shreds over his appearance in the Netflix documentary “Knock Down the House.”
“The internet roasted Riley into getting a haircut/glow up after #KnockDownTheHouse,” Ocasio-Cortez, 29, captioned the video on her Instagram story.
In the footage, she can be heard fawning over Roberts, 29, telling him, “You look good! Ooooh, look at that shape-up!”
Roberts’ makeover was in response to critics of the overgrown locks and facial hair he sported in the doc about the 2018 primary campaigns of four Democratic women, starring Ocasio-Cortez.
“Wait a minute … AOC’s boyfriend looks like THIS?” tweeted one user.
Another person went as far as to brand Roberts a “bin raccoon” in a since-deleted tweet.
