After spending 25 years in law enforcement I’ve noticed there is a certain degree of self-selection when it comes to lesbians and police work. They are definitely overrepresented compared to their numbers in the overall population.

Maybe there’s a clumping effect, too. A dyke or two get jobs in the same department, and before you know it, it’s a dyke department. NTTAWWT

I’ve been guilty of that. We had a heavily dyke finishing department and a light in the loafers kid applied for a job with references that were dykes working there. It was an entry level job, I hired him, and it was a win win win. My dykes were happy, he got a job, and he made a good worker.
