Before Trump progressives could scream and threaten and expect their concerns would be honored. Since Trump they have lost all honor. They are not only to be dismissed, they are to be cursed. They are exposed as true enemies.
There is also the fact that Trump cooperated substantively with the Mueller investigation. He did not assert any form of privilege. (Democrats regularly do otherwise.) He directed everyone in his administration to cooperate and testify. (Democrats regularly do otherwise.) He did not stonewall subpoenas, and he met deadlines. (Democrats regularly do otherwise.) He did not bleachbit electronic records, destroy materials that were under subpoena, or sledgehammer his electronic devices. (Democrats … well, you know.)
To argue that Trump's angry tweeting and intemperate private language constituted obstruction when he was nonetheless cooperating substantively was also a bridge too far -- especially since Hillary Clinton got a pass on clearly obstructive behavior by the Obama DOJ.
