Peter Strzok suspected CIA employees were behind inaccurate leaks to the press regarding possible Trump campaign contacts with Russia, according to an email the former FBI counterintelligence official sent to colleagues in April 2017.
“I’m beginning to think the agency got info a lot earlier than we thought and hasn’t shared it completely with us. Might explain all these weird/seemingly incorrect leads all these media folks have. Would also highlight agency as source of some of the leaks,” Strzok wrote in an email to FBI colleagues on April 13, 2017.
The email is highlighted in a letter that two Republican senators sent Monday to Michael K. Atkinson, the inspector general of the intelligence community.
There has been a theory, supposedly informed by sources to Big League Politics, for example, that Peter S., who grew up in Iran and speaks perfect Farsi, is actually a CIA guy in the FBI, placed there as part of an inter-agency program.
I have no idea if there is any truth to that at all.

As it says in the article: Hannigan was not at the same level as Brennan. Hannigan's "peer" would have been Admiral Mike Rogers.
And then, when Trump was elected, Hannigan, out of the blue, abruptly announced his retirement, leaving everyone in the intelligence community both here and abroad somewhat dumbfounded at the abruptness of it.

Certainly NOT defending this weasel....but the quote is from two years ago. He was a chatty little POS. I suspect he is a long way from turning state evidence....likely still thinks he is smarter than everyone else and can get away with the crimes he committed. A grand jury appearance might take some of the wind out of his sails and lead the investigators to other fertile ground. Since he seemed to be central to both investigations there are a lot of questions that can be asked which will enlighten us.

I wager that pursuant to Obama’s instruction,Brennan got Steele and MI-6 to “develop” the Dossier , bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton. The Russians fed them all the fabrications they wanted, legitimized by leaks, and then trotted into the FISA Court as true.
Conclusion: Hillary Clinton’s connection with the Russians via Breenan, MI-6 and a corrupt FBI/DOJ led them to attempt a coup on a duly elected president.
In short, The Russians used the Clinton campaign to almost succeed in overthrowing a duly elected government.

Not sure its all in that story alone. I do think we are going to see a far more expansive effort to conduct illegal surveillance on Americans (for partisan political purposes) than anyone imagines. Hannity and some of his guests have hinted at this. Recall that the Obama administration also weaponized the IRS against conservatives. It could well be that there were there broader efforts to intimidate and/or blackmail others in the congress and elsewhere.
The members of the cabal and their Democrat enablers are in full panic mode. I think they know what’s coming and how bad its going to be for them. This is damning stuff that will taint the Democrat Party for decades.

Absolutely right. Barr seems to fully understand the gravity of this and what its potential outcome might have been. We got lucky this time. I think Barr is intent on making sure the cabal is exposed and those involved are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. That is the only way to stop it from happening again.
Horowitz’ or Huber’s referral of Mifsud and/or Halper for their lies will pretty well chisel the Mueller crew’s ethical shortcomings and biases in concrete, won’t they?
