Actually, the GOP picked up two House seats in Minnesota - the 1st in southern Minnesota and the 8th in northeastern Minnesota. Both seats were pickups from the Dems.
The 1st was a lot closer than it needed to be and the now incumbent there (Hagedorn) will have to work hard to solidify his hold on that seat.
The 8th was not close. The GOP incumbent (Stauber) had great name ID up there and the Dems nominated possibly their worst candidate.
And the Democrats took the 2nd and 3rd districts from the Republicans for no net gain by either party. It remained 3 Republicans to 5 Democrats.
Collin Peterson is a Democrat who represents the 7th District in Minnesota. In 2016 Trump won that district by an astonishing 35 points. If the GOP cant win that one, then the state party should consider disbanding.
