There are no lanes but the rule is very plain: 4.15 Fouls: A leading horse, when clear, is entitled to any part of the track. If a leading horse or any other horse in a race swerves or is ridden to either side so as to interfere with or intimidate or impede any other horse or Jockey, it is a foul. If a Jockey strikes another horse or Jockey, it is a foul. If in the opinion of the Stewards, a foul alters the finish of a race, any offending horse may be disqualified by the Stewards.

Clearly, even a semi-blind person could see Maximum Security swerved into another horse which forced that horse to swerve into another. Thank God the jockeys were competent otherwise a great tragedy could have occurred.

Come on FReepers, rules are meant to be followed otherwise we are no better than liberals.

"Without rules, we might as well all be up in a tree, flinging our crap at each other." - Red Foreman. - And I agree...it was pretty obvious. It was a rule violation. Was it intentional? Doesn't matter. Apparently, many Freepers are selective (which we have seen on many occasions) and think the President is always right and rules apply only SOME of the time...when we want them to. That makes us hypocrites.
