What I see here is that everyone is NOT equal. And we cannot make them equal with politics. You have a form of privilege if you are born in the United States. You have a form of privilege if you are attractive, athletic, not overweight, have wealthy parents, have parents, live where the school system is good, learned to be compassionate, learned to be honest, learned how to learn, and so on.

Being born in a group with a lot of these characteristics to start with is certainly an advantage, but that is a fact of life, not something we should spend a lot of time worrying over. And we certainly should not spend a lot of our time trying to find other privileges to “match” the privilege that white people are asserted to have. There are plenty of white people who don’t work hard, don’t try to learn what they need to know to succeed, and plenty of non-whites who will take over their “privilege” in a heartbeat. That is life.
