Two Israelis injured in rocket fire

Two hundred rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel on Saturday, and Israel's Iron Dome system intercepted dozens of them.

Air raid sirens sounded in Gaza-area towns, as well as in Beit Shemesh and other Jerusalem-area towns. Rockets also landed in the courtyards of a home and school in Kiryat Gat.

"We can confirm that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad together with Hamas are responsible for firing 200 rockets from Gaza at Israeli civilians over the last 8 hours," an IDF statement read.

An 80-year-old woman was severely injured in Kiryat Gat, after suffering shrapnel wounds to her face. It is not clear what the shrapnel was from. Magen David Adom (MDA) said they administered first aid and transferred the woman to Ashkelon's Barzilai Medical Center, conscious and in severe but stable condition. The shrapnel, which hit her head and limbs, hit blood vessels and caused massive bleeding.

"Immediately after the siren sounded in the Kiryat Gat area, we were called to treat a woman who was injured by shrapnel," MDA paramedic Efraim Yanko said. "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a woman of approximately 80 lying fully conscious and suffering wounds to her head and limbs. We administered life-saving medical aid and transferred her urgently to Barzilai Hospital, in severe and stable condition."

MDA also said they provided aid to a woman who suffered injuries to her limbs while running to a safe area in Gan Yavne, as well as to a woman who suffered shock in Kiryat Gat.

In Ashkelon, a man of 50 suffered moderate injuries when a rocket hit the house he was in....

The Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups warned Israel not to continue retaliating for the rockets fired at its citizens.

Where do these rockets come from? It’s only proper to show the world what a MOAB can do to the factory (and surrounding area).

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Sharia forbids the ingestion of alcohol. More likely she’s strangling a puppy to celebrate.

The Israeli army needs to read up on ‘counter-battery fire”. Modern countermeasures enable the launch area to be identified well enough and quickly enough that a saturation barrage of the area should alleviate the problem.

As for civilians - get the word out if they see the terrorists setting up in the area, they need to immediately flee as far and as fast as they can. Or take out the terrorists to avoid the repercussions.

Massive rockets attacks on Israel that are continuing, right now. More Red Alerts of new attacks as I type. ZERO live news coverage from western media, but we will be bombarded with images of the “Evil Israeli attacks!” In response, for the next week, by the same media.

No sign of it in Gush Etzion. All’s quiet. But I can believe it.

Just think about the hubris of this statement a bit.

Eventually they are going to push the Israelis into
a well deserved disproportionate response and then
they will snivel and cry about the evil jews.

Personally they should just line D-9 dozers up
track to track and push Gaza into the sea

what responsible government permits (or enables) the accumulation of dangerous weapons pointed at, endangering its citizenry, especially when the enemy is occupying so much of its territories .....and using same as launching pads for their bombs..to murder as many of its innocent citizens as possible?

the government in Jerusalem needs to get rid of these Satanic Muslim murder gangs...without further delay.

I agree. What nation allows missiles fired into their land without a heavy return barrage? I would level an entire neighborhood in Gaza as a statement to the evil Pali's. Every rocket fired into Israel should be met with a return barrage 100 times greater.

Are these bottle rockets? On two minor injuries. These must be harmless fire crackers.

“Where do these rockets come from?”

The funding likely came from “us”, compliments of the Fraud and his Republicans.

For every rocket they fire, respond with a MOAB. They will stop pretty damn quick.

“Two hundred rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel on Saturday, and Israel’s Iron Dome system intercepted dozens of them.”

Dozens out of 2 hundred. Room for improvement. So who is selling/giving these bastards the rockets? Or did Iran use the money from the tarmac?

The rockets are cheap. The Iron Dome missiles are not. Although the system may ignore those rockets that will not cause any real harm (landing in open fields, etc), this can get to be rather expensive. Are the Israelis working on cheaper versions of these missiles or a cheaper system overall?

As I understand it, the Iron Dome system ignores missiles that are predicted to land harmlessly (open field, etc). It predicts impact points and tries to intercept those rockets that will impact houses, shops, etc. Remember that a lot of these rockets are home grown and the guidance is not very good.
