The 16-year-old boy who died in U.S. custody April 30, days after crossing the southern border following a long and perilous trek from Guatemala "was a very nice student, intelligent, creative, but shy," according to a former teacher.
Juan de León Gutiérrez's former elementary school teacher described him as a hardworking boy who helped his father in the region's dwindling coffee fields, where drought and decreasing prices have led to debt and unemployment.
Gutiérrez was apprehended by border patrol agents near El Paso on April 19 and transported the next evening to Casa Padre, a shelter for unaccompanied migrant children in Brownsville, Texas. When he awoke on April 21, staff noticed he appeared ill, and nine days later he died in a hospital bed. The Guatemalan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Gutiérrez died from complications from an infection in his brain's frontal lobe.
García recalled with sadness that Gutiérrez was a very motivated kid who "demonstrated ability in many things."
García said when the boy missed class he would run out to the road as García walked by to explain his absence—it was typically because his father needed help in the fields.

Why didn’t this adult teacher advise this wonderful student to stay in his own country and make it a better place? How irresponsible. There is blood on this teacher’s hands.

The condition is most often due to a virus, such as a herpes simplex virus, the varicella zoster virus (which causes chickenpox and shingles), and measles, mumps, and rubella viruses. Encephalitis frequently has fatal consequences and may manifest only after an apparent recovery from the primary symptoms of the viral infection.

Well based on the Foot Surgery (Out Patient) I just had costing $28,000.00 +/- before the Medicare Insurance Provider declined to pay for All the inflated individual charges and that brought it down to something like $17,000.00 or so this Kids Bill was probably $250,000.00 or so...
Us the Taxpayers will get to pay for it.

Remove Left Little toe and move a Tendon from the right side to left to straighten the twist on the foot. Doc made it sound easy... He also is working on an open wound that just doesn’t want to heal. Have done weakly Bandage changes for 1-1/2 months post Surgery...
