The 16-year-old boy who died in U.S. custody April 30, days after crossing the southern border following a long and perilous trek from Guatemala "was a very nice student, intelligent, creative, but shy," according to a former teacher.
Juan de León Gutiérrez's former elementary school teacher described him as a hardworking boy who helped his father in the region's dwindling coffee fields, where drought and decreasing prices have led to debt and unemployment.
Gutiérrez was apprehended by border patrol agents near El Paso on April 19 and transported the next evening to Casa Padre, a shelter for unaccompanied migrant children in Brownsville, Texas. When he awoke on April 21, staff noticed he appeared ill, and nine days later he died in a hospital bed. The Guatemalan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Gutiérrez died from complications from an infection in his brain's frontal lobe.
García recalled with sadness that Gutiérrez was a very motivated kid who "demonstrated ability in many things."
García said when the boy missed class he would run out to the road as García walked by to explain his absenceit was typically because his father needed help in the fields.

He chose a life of crime by illegally coming to the United States. Actions have consequences, shame on his family and others for championing his criminal behavior that led to his death.

Soros and the dems most likely plucked him out of a Guatemalan hospital and flew him into the closest airport to the BP just to make sob story headlines.

In the long span of history the U.S. is a child and right now it is a very vulnerable child full of dreams, dreams that depend on its ability to protect its own sovereignty, which more than anything else right now depends on respect for the sovereignty of its borders.
This is not an issue about “immigration”. It is about the rule of law, sovereignty and respect for the borders that define within them where a Constitution and its rule of law is to prevail, above the “dreams” of those attempting to transgress our sovereign borders illegally; and that in spite of massive high rates of LEGAL immigration.

He had some prior illness and that is what killed him. Sad, but he would have died anyway, anywhere. That truth does not fit their agenda. Like, children being killed with guns. Except among liberals, they ignore the "children" being gangsters and are the ones with the guns, killing rival gangsters.
The left always manipulates the narrative to fit their agenda.

Oh please. The kid was dying anyway in the first place. Sorry he died but kids die every day.
So sick of this sob story shit about invaders who are taking opportunity and resources from our own children let alone our own pocket books.

Teacher describes migrant boy who died in U.S. custody as a result of illegal migration, leaving US taxpayers a six-figure medical bill that his home country will not pay.

The President should send a bill to the Vatican, given how much the Pope wants to help out.
At the very least we can start taxing the Church.

Hey Teach - America is already full of children who were born here (and parents were) and YOU want FOREIGNERS to go to the front of the line ?
Maybe you should move to Mexico to more fully carry out your Vocation ... Think of the good you could do THERE
