I think a well-seasoned Garand is a wise choice.
I have stopped talking about what else I may or may not have in my gun safe. It's not a safe thing to do, not even on Freerepublic.

Garand is good. A bit heavy. Still have some sealed cans of Greek Ammo in enblock clips and bandoliers. At my age though I prefer hoisting the .30 carbine.
You’re right. No sense enumerating what you may own.
