Time for Barr to appoint a special counsel, headed by Joe DiGenova, and to make the case that the actions of the Democrats against his investigation is an act of obstruction of justice. Hoist them by their own petards.

If only, but the Pubes are quiet. Even Cruz’s rant against democrats was ridiculously weak and irrelevant to what democrats are doing.

Don't take this personally, but I really wish Freepers would get away from this childish idiocy about "appointing a special counsel" in this matter.

Under the U.S. Department of Justice, a special counsel is only appointed under unusual circumstances. In most cases (like the Mueller appointment), it is done when a senior DOJ official overseeing the department or a serious matter has a concern about a conflict of interest.

This idea that a special counsel should be appointed just to give us some kind of catharsis is both ignorant and ultimately counter-productive. The U.S. Department of Justice is perfectly capable of handling this matter on its own -- with the right people in charge.

Look at what has been happening over the last few weeks, folks ...

1. The Mueller investigation is over.

2. Mueller's report exonerates Trump (as some of us believed would be the case for two years now).

3. William Barr is the new U.S. Attorney General, having taken on this role after a 25-year career outside government.

4. He has adamantly refused demands by Democrats to recuse himself from anything and everything under the sun.

5. He has testified under oath that the FBI was spying on the Trump campaign.

6. The Democrats and their media partners have been fabricating sh!t about him for the last 48 hours in a desperate attempt to destroy his reputation and completely undermine him.

The appointment of a special counsel is exactly what the Democrats want -- because they know damn well that it would be some feckless fool like Ken Starr who would be a perfect punching bag for them.

The Democrats are unraveling because one thing has become perfectly to them over the last few weeks:

WILLIAM BARR IS THE SPECIAL COUNSEL.

Enough with Special Counsels already. But I’m with you on diGenova. Hire him to replace Rosenstein, and let the games begin.
