Michael Bennet, the moderate, studious Democratic senator from Colorado known for his work on education and immigration reform, announced his candidacy for president on Thursday.

He joins a field so packed with candidates that it now includes six of his colleagues in the Senate and his former boss, John Hickenlooper, a past governor of Colorado.

“My plan is to run for president,” he said in an interview on “CBS This Morning.”

“Moderate?”

Yes, Manhattan Moderate, i.e., 6 inches to the right of Joseph Stalin.

Times is such a pack of “homers.”

No. They’re running for publicity and name recognition and money and TV face time this time (2020).

For 2024. And, if Pence does win 2024, then like Clinton succeeded against the Washington insider HW Bush after the two very successful Reagan terms, go against a repubbie weakened by NOT having Trump active.

I had a dream last nite that Mondale was running. He came to my hometown to campaign for the CT primary. I bumped into him at the hotel where they were staying.

This is not happening by accident. In politics there are no accidents, except self inflicted wounds. So what I want to know is, what is the democrat strategy they are implementing here? The steady drizzle of no name “candidates,” diluting the money, the popular support; What do they stand to gain from this? Who ultimately benefits??

I haven’t thought it through yet myself, so any ideas as to what they’re up to, fire away.

Michael Bennet could cut into Buttigieg's gay vote.

Everybody who loved A Chorus Line or Dreamgirls or who cried when he died of AIDS will vote for him.

Maybe he could run with the guy who wrote Rent on an all-theatrical, all-dead ticket.

I think some of it is to get their name in the national public for
future recognition. Heck get out there collect a few dollars,
travel to a few states for primaries and have a good time.

Who know what all the reasons are.

I had a dream in 2004 that I met John Kerry (he was not way taller than me as he should have been) in an Au Bon Pain and congratulated him on winning his parties nomination, after that there was an award silence.

Disturbing.

They are delusional.

They think Trump is sure bet to lose.
Biden or Bernie .... Old. One-termer.
Makes the VP nomination valuable.

And many are shooting for the cabinet. They have nothing else to run for.
& Cable TV gives Dem candidates plenty of face time.
