There is nothing about tax returns in the Constitution being a requirement to become president.
If the blue states want to change that in order to keep President Trump from being on the ballot, I have an idea:
The red states should warn that the dem candidate’s name will not appear on the ballot unless:
HE OR SHE HAS A BACKGROUND IN BUSINESS.
It has been proven that a private industry business experience makes a far better Leader.
Let the blue states take the red states to court.
I have a better idea. Require the Republican candidate be on all 52 state ballots or the Democrat candidate will not be recognized.
Actually, you may be on to something. If a couple red states started moving a bill through stating that you cannot be on the ballot if you DO release your tax returns, that might make them pause. Make up some “it prejudices people against business owners” rationale.
There is stuff in the constitution regarding being a natural born citizen.
And Kamala mala ain’t a natural born citizen.
“The red states should warn that the dem candidates name will not appear on the ballot unless: HE OR SHE HAS A BACKGROUND IN BUSINESS.”
that’s actually an excellent idea: the leftists will howl and bring lawsuits, showing that they are blatant hypocrites, and when said lawsuits are won, will provide an instant precedence to overturn the blue state measures to keep Trump off the ballot ...
I would add this observation, when this dragged into court...the judge is going to eventually ask if this rule is for all candidates (from dog-catcher on up through city council members, and the President’s office), and the answer is no. At that point, it’ll fail miserably.
On the other side of this...Trump could walk in with page 1 and 2 (the 1040 alone), and hand that over. It would suffice the rule, but give them very marginal and limited knowledge over the rest of his 250 page tax submission.
