Twenty-six people died of Ebola in a single day in the North Kivu province, the highest daily toll since its outbreak nearly nine months ago,... the health ministry said Tuesday...The current outbreak is the second deadliest on record, after the epidemic that struck West Africa in 2014-2016 and killed more than 11,300 people.
It said of the total deaths of 957, 33 were health workers who had succumbed to the disease.
Local organisations say the number of Ebola deaths is rising...Adding to the logistical hitches are a string of assaults on teams fighting the disease.

Hundreds of Illegal Africans Increasing At Mexico Border
One of the men in the shelter is Danny, a 24-year-old from the Congos restive Kasai province, The province is currently battling the second worst outbreak of Ebola in history, with more than 600 dead so far.
the Africans pose a unique challenge, officials say, in part because they are harder to deport.
These are countries without diplomatic representation here that can help resolve the situation for each nationality, said Guillen, the immigration chief.
Officials say there were so many arrivals from Africa and Asia that it created a backlog in the registration process.

.... like these migrants who had entered Tapachula 15 days ago from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Cameroon, mainly,.....ANOTHER 2,000 people from India, Haiti, Cuba and other countries - some 20 countries in all - are also waiting to be accorded transit documents to pass through Mexican territory.....all of them suffering from hunger and thirst since they don't have any money. In addition, they are all sick with fever and diarrhea....they arrived in Cuba after leaving their homeland and traveling through Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala before entering Mexico.

The only silver lining is that Ebola-infected Congolese are likely to die before they get here.
Of course, there are plenty of other tropical diseases and parasites that kill more slowly. Everybody get your yellow fever inoculations and stock up on chloroquine.

From here it just gets worse. When 1 out of every 100 people may DIE from it, many more are actually sick.
This is past the point where hospitals can handle them, and every trip outdoors is a risk.
No one can take care of that many sick so it all breaks down from there.

The only silver lining is that Ebola-infected Congolese are likely to die before they get here. Soros says it's time for a "humanitarian" air lift.

Many would. But they would have plenty of time to infect their fellow travelers who would likely make it.
