Body of crucified criminal was put on public display in Saudi Arabia following 37 executions

The body of a crucified criminal was put on public display in Saudi Arabia after the execution of 37 nationals in one day, according to local media reports.

State-run media carried statements on Tuesday to say those executed had ‘adopted extremist ideologies and formed terrorist cells with the aim of spreading chaos and provoking sectarian strife’.

Saudi authorities said that one person was crucified after his execution, with the Middle East Eye reporting that the body was then publicly displayed.

The U.N. human rights chief condemned the beheadings, saying most were minority Shi'ite Muslims who may not have had fair trials and at least three were minors when sentenced.

There is plenty to criticize about islamic justice.

But this particular practice seems to have roots in Judaism. Not that that puts it off limits for criticism, but I seem to remember something about glass houses and throwing stones...

You should also notice that the ones executed were prisoners of war — captives.

So you’re also ok with stoning adulterers, since it has Old Testament precedent?

There is New Testament teaching against stoning adulterers.

There is no New Testament teaching against beheading and then crucifying rebels and criminals...

I don’t get your point. You’re ok with beheading and crucifying, but not with stoning. Ok, whatever

Many here profess to believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God.

But then they want to pick and choose which parts they like and which parts they don't like, and which therefore can't possibly be true.

But where to draw the line is never quite clear.

There is New Testament teaching against stoning adulterers.

I'm not sure that's so. The parable of the adulterous women wasn't meant to condemn the practice of stoning adulterers, but to illustrate the fact that no human being could be without sin. The final admonition "go and sin no more," was, to my mind, something akin to the modern, "you lucked out, sister; take advantage of your good fortune."

The fact that something happened in the Old Testament - as recorded inerrantly - doesn’t justify it today. There was slavery in the Old Testament. Joshua has slaves (the Gibeonites) You ok with slavery today?

Saudi Arabia sponsors mosques and madrassas around the world to support SUNNI Wahhabi terrorism against us non- Muslims.

So the extremist ideologies they executed these so-called terrorists for must be the Shiite version which would work against Sunni Saudi Arabia and would be supportive of the Saudi enemies Shiite Iran. -Tom

When Muslims have no infidels close at hand they eat their own. We need to build a wall around all their countries and in 20 years they would cease to exist.

I would hope Christians would draw the line between the Old and New Testament, and stick with the New Testament for their marching orders, and leave the Old Testament to the Jews. - Tom

Saudis are Sunni, and consider Shiites heretics, and no better than us infidels. - Tom

Saddam Husein was a Sunni and they provided bases for us in the first Gulf war. They eat their own.
