It appears these two egos cannot get along, so they are inflicting as much damage as possible on their way out. Bad for 2nd amendment supporters. Bad for the NRA, just when we need this organization to be as strong as possible. I was unimpressed with the NRA voter mobilization efforts last election. Equally unimpressed with their weak support for pro 2nd amendment candidates. They will now probably become even more ineffectual.

Welcome. People talk about the 2nd Amendment like it’s some kind of magic charm that wards off evil. The reality is that it’s abrogated everywhere Democrat-ruled municipalities are motivated enough to fight their way through the courts. The NRA, through its membership dues, is what puts up a fight in the courts and targets the specific pols involved at election time. They don’t always win, but they always fight.

So glad I’m a GOA member. The GOA has none of this in-fighting crap and they don’t cave an inch to the Marxists.

I know what you mean. I support JPFO, and GOA as well as the NRA. Of the three, I think I like JPFO. They are rabid defenders of the 2nd.

I'm sure they do, among dozens of other mail items that the member has to dig through.

OMG, you're not kidding. I wish I could opt out of ALL snail mail except maybe 1 mailing 2 months before my annual dues are due. I already opt out of the magazine.

I think you underestimate GOA membership. GOA reports 2 million members.

Wayne LaPierre has done yeoman’s work in keeping the liberal hordes at bay.

So in other words, he's Triaging rather than launching counter-offenses and stopping the anti-gunners at the source.

I wouldn’t call successfully expanding the number of states with shall-issue concealed permit policies and the Castle Doctrine mere triage. But even if it were mere triage, he would have done far better than the church on sexual perversion and abortion.

What about Dana Loesch? She’s a toughie, and never backs down from an issue or argument. I’m not sure if her being female would be a positive or negative. It would be good if women would see that guns aren’t just for men.

I think they’re bending the truth. Membership dues are $20 a year. Total membership dues reported to the IRS? $160K. Total receipts? $2m. Let’s say total receipts were in fact membership dues (not the way they were reported). That’s only 100K members. I think the GOA guy is lying, figuring no one will dig up its 990 IRS filing, know of its existence or even that it’s publicly available

Lying to public isn’t a crime. Lying to the IRS in the 990 filing can mean a stint in fashion forward orange jumpsuits. I’m inclined to believe the IRS filing over whatever flimflammery gets peddled to an uninformed public.
