One should never hate to speak the truth. You should hate to speak untruth ... unfortunately, YOU don’t hate it enough, and proceed to speak falsely.
Shame on you.
RBG has been trying to get rid of consent laws since long before she sat at the big bench.
No, God was not fine with it.
He was protecting Hagar and Ishmael from death.
This is known as the No True Scotsman Defense, and basically states that Christians never molest children because anyone who molests children cannot be Christian, therefore Christians never molest children. It's circular reasoning.
Good, as I said, comes from the desire not to be the victim of evil. It comes from the understanding that if we all agree not to hurt each other, things will go better. That's why cultures that never heard of Jesus still had laws about not hurting each other.
So go ahead, ignore the part about the sex drive not being the problem but the corrupt human nature.
Since you cannot know everything about every human top to bottom, inside and out, then you cannot state with certainty that it’s the man’s sex drive that is the cause of the problem,
Yes, and why can men be worse than animals? Not because of their sex drive but because of what it is that sets man apart from animals.
Her brothers killed him because he had sex with her BEFORE asking to marry her (and he was a Canaanite). There's no hint that they did it because she was not willing, but because he went about marrying her the wrong way, and he was an outsider.
If it was rape, I find it odd that Genesis 34:3 adds "3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel."
And your concept of good and evil from from where?
You are arguing as if the Judeo-Christian system of morals is a given.
It’s not. Not all cultures adhere to it. Look up the Sawi tribe and their head hunting and culture of betrayal.
That is what I have been saying all along. I never once said "Religion did this." I only said Religion doesn't STOP it.
Oh, so you have noticed that I can dismiss your opinion as easily as you can dismiss mine. Was that a surprise?
My concept of good comes from my desire not to be hurt. What hurts me is bad. What does not hurt me is good. My capacity to empathize with the innocent allows me to expand my concept of good and bad to “what hurts those I relate to is bad.” This capacity to empathize comes from my ability to imagine what it must be like to be someone else. This comes from my frontal lobe. Again, this is not complex, and the fact that there are some really dysfunctional tribes in the world only tells me that years of inbreeding has lowered their IQ to the point where they cannot empathize with others. Okay. So?
There’s a reason the story is ubiquitously known as The Rape of Dinah’.
Easy metmom. What specifically do you suppose I approve of?
Ooops.....
What I intended to copy and put in the italics obviously did not come out right. Your name was not supposed to be in there.
And I was courtesy pinging you.
The comment was directed to the first person in the ping, as is my usual practice.
I don’t see the reason in the actual Scripture though. Nevertheless, they didn’t kill him because he violated their laws about rape. They killed him because he had sex with their sister before marriage, and even if she’d been willing, the result would have been the same. She was useless to them once she was no longer a virgin. Damaged property. That’s how women were seen.
Thanks for clarification mom.
The original Hebrew is pretty clear, even using understood euphemism. It’s been rape for 3500 years, until now.
Actually, you have.
You are arguing that Judaism and islam are the same in that they endorse and condone this kind of behavior with God's approval.
war on boys continues.....
I doubt that
