As the debate over the 2nd Amendment continues unabated in the United States, it's not unusual for foreign nationals to observe the infighting and wonder why Americans are so protective of their right to bear arms.
That curiosity may be turning to understanding for some Venezuelans, however, as a group called Rumbo Libertad — described in this Breitbart op-ed as a conservative Venezuelan group — begins to push for gun rights as citizens patiently await the exit of Nicolas Maduro.
Rafael Valera, communications director for Rumbo Libertad, writes that his countrymen once had partial gun rights before the “Communist anti-gun law” instituted by Maduro’s predecessor Hugo Chavez in response to a failed coup attempt against him.

How predictable is this? Once again, thank you Founding Fathers for giving us a constitution that protects our right to bear arms BEFORE we need it rather than AFTER. This is the real genius of American exceptionalism.
The time to push back was when you were first being disarmed, not after.

Why not just take up arms against the Socialists and kill them all. Goal accomplished.
The anti communist opposition will have no choice if they gain power. The collectivistas will need to be defeated. The middle class (what’s left of it) will need to be armed.
One thing they will need to do, is eliminate record keeping of gun sales, so that the socialists can’t just confiscate them if they regain power.

I had a conversation with one of my truck drivers. Told him I went to the gun range with my .44 magnum. He asked “Why would you have something like that?”
I replied: “Because I can!”

Or allow them to be taken from you, absolutely. The fact is that under any scheme of state collectivism, individual citizens don't have rights. Those rights go to groups, in theory economic groups (Marx was naive), in practice, political groups. The Party will always have guns. Everyone else, not so much.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’ve actually become genuinely curious about helping a revolutionary movement because the alternative is an international crisis not to mention a horrific humanitarian disaster.

Another right of the American citizen is the ability to own mineral rights from oil, gas, coal, et al, and derive royalty income from the production of these minerals. USA is the only country that allows ownership of mineral rights.
The income from these royalties runs into the billions that ends up in the pocket of an “individual cititen” of the USA. It is a right that a socialist government could revoke once gun ownership had been abolished and all guns confiscated.
The current DemoRat candidates for the 2020 USA prisidency are talking about substantial income tax increases and do not dare talk about confiscating the individual ownership of mineral rights. Another source of cash for their programs is the retirement accounts of the USA citizen. Argentina enacted that several years ago.
When you hear a Liberal refer to our government as a “Democracy”, ask him/her how many times the word “Democracy” is found in the Declaration of Independenc, the Constitution, the Bill or Rights. The Founders knew the dangers of a democracy... that is why we have a “CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC” that the Left, Liberals, Progressives, Socialist, Communists, Muslims, Useful Idiots & Dumb Asses, want to do away with in order to create the Utopia of a one world govennemnt, with BOH the leader of and Hillary the appointed representative of the USA.
