Measles quarantine issued at two California universities

A measles quarantine was ordered Thursday at two public universities in Los Angeles in an effort to try to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease. The order was issued at UCLA and Cal State LA for students and staff exposed to a confirmed case of measles and who cannot prove they have been vaccinated against the highly contagious disease. Those students and university employees, numbering more than 100, were being ordered to stay home, avoid contact with others and notify public health officials if they develop symptoms... The news comes at a time when measles cases in the United States have surpassed the highest number on record since the disease was declared eliminated nationwide in 2000. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday confirmed the milestone, saying the agency has counted 695 cases in 22 states this year.

Decades ago, we had to have vaccines against several diseases before being allowed to travel in foreign countries. Do they/we not require that today? Stupid policy if not.

Time to dig out the real silverware, copper pots and invest in brass doorknobs. I’m guessing those “polished brass” doorknobs from Walmart don’t have any brass in the polish.

https://www.tested.com/science/life/453961-oligodynamic-effect-how-some-metals-kill-bacteria/

“That study promotes the use of oligodynamic metals in pots used to hold drinking water, as they tested silver, brass and copper against water containing bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella in small doses. Within 4 hours, the copper pot had killed off the Salmonella microbes, while silver and copper took 8 and 12 hours. “Silver can serve as a disinfectant at concentrations about 1,000 times lower than the toxic level to mammalian life,” says the study.”

“And if you ever see a doorknob made from, say, stainless steel, beware—it’s could be a hotbed of bacteria, some surviving for more than a month. A study of hospital doorknobs shows that brass and copper impede bacterial growth, while aluminum and stainless steel let the bacteria run wild. In fact, within 15 minutes the copper had already partially disinfected itself.”

Yeah.

They’re gonna stay home and avoid contact.

Uh huh.

Avoid contact like in go to the beach. go to a party. go shopping. go hang out. go pub crawling.

My mom and her family nearly died of scarlet fever. They all had lingering affects. You can see in her childhood pictures of before and after. She had wild curly hair in the before pictures but darker straight hair in the after. Thankfully, it was just her hair.

Apparently it’s all mere recommendations, now.

Possibly because vaccinations had become near universal in most of the world until the the anti-vaxxer movement got legs as a result of the Wakefield fakery in the 90’s and then the internet was invented and put it on steroids.

It seems apparent that large numbers of kids are gonna have to die before people are going to get woke to the anti-vaxxer BS.

I wonder what percentage of catastrophic manmade global warming zealots are mandatory vaccine pushers too. 99%???

Many of them do not like the idea of vaccination, because it causes children to grow up. They think humanity is a cancer on the planet that needs to be eradicated. Much of the anti-vax propaganda originates with this ilk of leftists.

That is unfortunate.

My mother-in-law was crippled by polio. She was lucky, though, since she only had to wear a leg brace.

About the same for the vaccine’s side-effects.

But a special law exempts the vaccine producers and delivers from all liability. Why would they need that?
