What was learned was that the tactics to put forward the propaganda and spin were inadequate for the task and better tactics, more partners, more reach, and more suppression of opposing views will be needed.

This wasn't about journalism and so there is nothing to be learned about journalism, not journalism as it used to be regarded.

The Ministry of Propaganda is only interested in furthering the agenda by sticking to the narrative.

Those so-called “conservatives” against Trump ar nothing more than Bush league Republicans hell bent on turning the USA into North mexico and getting their “friends” across the aisle a permanent majority.

False premise.

They don’t want to learn anything.

More than anything, reporters should be furious at the many sources close to the various investigations who (it now seems clear) must have known pretty early there were serious holes in many areas of this story

Sources and methods: FBI, CIA leak to favored journalists who then print the story. In circular fashion, FBI uses story as predicate to open an investigation. Just like the Soviet Union.

I'd sure like to see the unredacted info in the Mueller report as to "sources and methods". Guys like David Iganius, Michael Isakoff, Andrea Mitchell, the entire NY Times staff.

Bauder added the report showed “several instances where the president and his team sought to mislead the public.” He congratulated the New York Times and Washington Post for correctly reporting that White House counsel Don McGahn had been ordered to find a way to fire Mueller.

Trump, Bauder noted, had called this “fake news, folks, fake news.” It wasn’t. And neither were some other stories.

So, yay journalism! You were more truthful than Donald Trump, at times. This is like being proud of beating a fish at Boggle.

*******************************

And even in this, the lies continue to be repeated.

Pathological.

>> Mueller’s investigation “repeatedly supports news reporting <<

Maybe that is the real collusion. I think the term is "circular reporting". "Anonymous sources" leak info. News agencies report it. Intelligence agencies cite news agencies as sources.

It was not a fiasco. Everything they did was deliberate.

They will have their way at any cost.

Poor Matt. Must be new and young. Does NOT understand the Democrat-media complex. He’ll be tutored now.

Conservative media throughout 2015-2016 learned a painful lesson. If your approach is based on telling people what they want to hear, audiences might like it at first. They might gobble it up for decades. But you’ll have quietly lost their respect during that time, and in a key moment, they’ll tune you out.

This isn’t even close to what actually happened between conservatives and conservative media.

Otherwise, a pretty good piece.

There is no press. Just Democrat thugs pretending to be journalists.

This wasn’t a “Screw Up”. The press conspired with the democrats to subvert an election. And that effort was down to the level of telling “reporters” what words to use. And the “reporters” are so brazen or stupid they all use the same words across all channels and times. This is treason
not free speech and the perps should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The article is based on a false assumption - that these are “journalists” and “reporters” in the classic sense, who were merely naive or wishful in trusting their “sources,” and so were “misled.” (And should be “furious” as a result.)

These “reporters,” in order to hold on to their jobs, follow a slant that is determined in advance by their bosses. The editorial board and owners determine first of all what “the story” is, and then send out their reporters to find “facts” to confirm it.

The NYTimes and Washington Post are outlets for CIA propaganda. They print what the CIA wants people to believe.

The Mueller report makes clear reporters were sold wolf whistles over and over, led by reams of unnamed official sources who urged them to see meaning in meaningless things and assume connections that weren’t there.

“Oh, Bull Shiite.

They looked at the Rorschach Test and saw what they wanted to see”

First, Trump did not look like a "brainless goon and thug." He spoke out of righteous anger and frustration over being screwed, expressed totally appropriate concerns and suggestions.

Second, the 'press' wasn't conned. It was a partnership. No less than the NY Times decreed that the 'threat of Trump' meant that the 'old journalistic standards' no longer applied. The 'press' screwed the pooch. No more, no less. It continues today.
