Kim Jong Un Willing To Denuclearize If Given Security Guarantees, Putin Says

If North Korea is given security guarantees, Kim Jong Un would be willing to denuclearize, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Kim on Thursday. Their first face-to-face meeting took place on Russky Island in eastern Russia.

No major agreements came out of the meeting between the two leaders. But they said they were satisfied with the talks, which lasted two hours — twice as long as originally planned. According to Putin, they exchanged opinions on what should be done to improve the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Kim described the conversation as "candid and meaningful." Russian state TV reported that several bottles of champagne were brought into the room where the delegations were meeting.

Putin said after the talks that Kim was open to denuclearization. "Above all, he focuses on protecting national interests and security," Putin said, The Associated Press reported.

Putin also called for another round of six-party talks to discuss North Korea's nuclear program, reports USA Today. The six-party talks were a series of meetings including North and South Korea, Russia, the U.S., China and Japan, held from 2003 through 2009, until North Korea abruptly withdrew.

excellent. I was hoping for this.

Russia is no longer our enemy. I am sure Putin explained a few things to Kim and maybe he got it.

Fine, Putin speaks for the Russian Federation and he can give guarantees from the Russian Federation.

I'll Wait for President Trump to speak for the United States of America.

NK President is WILLING to disarm.

He just happened to have the name Un, which may have caused some of the confusion.

Any “security agreements” in exchange for de-nuclearization must include unlimited access by inspectors to both self identified and observed sites of missile technology and nuclear research.

Bless his little fat heart. Protecting Kim is what he wants and Russia could probably deliver that.

I really wonder how Trump will react to this and if Putin has any real interest in the idea.

Lol, oh please! Calling for the resumption of the Kabuki theater 6 Party talks is simply Putin’s way to make himself and Russia relevant again.

And what is the little fat fckrs obsession with security? Security from WHAT? What does that shit hole of a country have that anyone wants?

Screw them all! Ramp up the sanctions and wait the fat f*ck out.

It would be idiotic to trust someone you have just spent two years insulting and threatening. And someone who the previous administration did the same.

Likewise, Putin has zero reason to trust us or to assist our goals. He just saw what happened when a candidate ran on a platform of a US-Russian rapprochement. The entire Congress and our parallel government intel community swung into high gear with a new cold war.

Even if he did not think the neocons still run America, he knows Trump will be gone in either 2 or 6 years and will position himself for the next president determined to continue our global conquest.

Kim’s got 2 basic issues. Keep the Nukes, as Nukes make you safe, but look Momar & Saddam ... Or if he gives up the Nukes to get rid of sanctions and endd up with a KIA factory and improve standard of living in NK, then he gets security the old fashion way by helping his people attain more.

I say he wants out of Nukes, as isolation and poor people leads to a coup

Kim would be crazy to enter into any disarmament deal with us since he is in power for a lifetime, and we change presidents every few years, going from extremes like Obama to Trump.

We are too erratic and can't be trusted internationally, for a nuclear power to depend on our good will.
Kim knows we like regime change as in Libya, Venezuela, Iraq. He would be a regime change target. We have to intimidate Kim into disarming his nuclear weaponry with legimate threats of bombings if he doesn't comply. - Tom

‘excellent. I was hoping for this.’

Putin, given his modernized weapons, is in a PERFECT POSITION to assure that Kim doesn’t have to deal with a ‘Libya outcome’, even if Skunk Cabbage somehow manages to beat Trump in 2020 [don’t worry, the Dems have already chosen her].

As proven in Syria, when Russia says they support a government, THEY MEAN BUSINESS, and they will not change policy just because someone from the ‘resistance’ might happen to win once in a while.

Regime change has screwed up the world drastically. Removing Qaddafi and Hussein will have consequences for years to come. Removing Maduro and Jong Un will create a vacuum and humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. The replacement leaders are NEVER what is any better for their respective citizens let alone American foreign entanglements.
