Police arrested 26 young people during a disturbance at Eastpoint Mall on Sunday night after a carnival at the Baltimore County shopping complex was shut down.
Sometime before 6 p.m., Jolly Shows Spring Carnival and mall officials made the call to close the carnival for the evening, Baltimore County police spokesman Shawn Vinson said at a news conference at the scene Sunday.
Mall ownership did not immediately return a request for comment Monday. A message left with Jolly Shows was not immediately returned Monday.
Carnival officials were “overwhelmed by the number of people that were trying to get in,” Vinson said. After the carnival was shut down, a crowd of about 1,000 people made its way through the mall parking lot and into neighborhoods, he added.
Police received several calls about the disturbance around 6 p.m., Vinson said, and about 50 officers from Baltimore County and state police responded.
Some fights broke out, Vinson said, and the 26 people who were arrested were charged as juveniles with disorderly conduct. Vinson said there were no injuries.
By 9 p.m., groups of teenagers could be seen getting ride-sharing services and boarding buses to leave the area. Vinson said the Maryland Transit Administration brought buses to help disperse the crowd. The scene was largely clear by 9:30 p.m., with just the large police presence blocking off some roads leading to the mall.
He said the mall is expected to open as usual Monday.
The carnival was scheduled to end Sunday night at 11 p.m., according to Jolly Shows’ website.

Sad state of affairs when “teens” are ruining fairs, movies, Mcdonalds you name it. I used to do all those things when I was younger in the 70’s and we just went to have fun and we did.
Some of the “teens” today suck and just like liberals they RUIN EVERYTHING.

In that video, referring to an earlier police action (three weeks ago, a “March Madness” event) in which nine “teenagers” were arrested, the reporter explained the circumstances by saying “something happened,” obviously picking up on Ilhan Omar’s brilliant rhetorical framing methodology.

It is funny how we have no “teens” where I live despite the fact everyone who reaches 20 years old has experienced those years.
It seems that you can’t get more than one of these “teens” in a “group” before trouble occurs.

Dundalk was always a white working class neighborhood (included Ft. Holabird - father-in-law was stationed there for a while and I got my physical there).
For us Jews, Dundalk was less dangerous then the other white hate-filled neighborhoods of Hampden and Hamilton (today they are toney millennial haunts). The average IQ back in the 60’s for the teens was just above the freezing mark.
Looks like Baltimore City has spilled over or just drove over to the fair. Now you know why I permanently left Baltimore in 1966. I saw the signs of black racist extremism coming and it did in 1968 (Pelosi’s mayor brother sold out Jewish small businesses to the mobs as well as some other white groups except the ethnics who armed themselves and spread the word, you come, you die).
I think we can safely say that the term “honest or competent” politician in Baltimore esp. the City Council, is like the Dodo Bird, extinct, with a couple mayors in jail and hopefully this bitch Mosby heading that way (she of the Grey case fiasco).
I don’t know why they need to have a carnival in the County. The city is full of clowns and con-men/women.
Damned. Gwyn Oak Park is long gone. A great place until...Then it was only a place you didn’t go if you valued your life. Leakin Park was the body dumping ground in NW Baltimore, while Druid Hill Park was for the brothers.
