I thought I would point out the conference was held at the Atlantic Council. It is a DS think tank and parking space for out of work government hacks with TDS.

‘sorry but if horrowitx is out ranked by mule head we are in deeep dooo dooo.’

Yep, apparently so. This was the famous ‘insurance policy’ - if Trump won, keep ‘investigating’ him for collusion, right through his term, as that ties up the evidence needed to take out the coup plotters [with Rosenstein being the top dog of the bunch], weakens Trump, and might even get him impeached. In 6 months [by the end of 2017] they knew there was no collusion, but the ‘insurance policy’ is why they continued on and on, and would have never stopped.

Too bad for them that enough Republicans DID NOT sit out the 2018 election [out of principle, of course], and thereby Trump got 53 seats in the Senate, and thereby got Barr confirmed - and now THE JIG IS UP for the Democrat plotters.

Again, elections have consequences. Susan Collins voted YES on Barr, Lisa Murkowski voted YES on Barr, and Mitt Romney voted YES on Barr. So please, do the country a favor, and save your ‘principle’ votes for the Primaries, rather than voting [or not voting] in November to enable coup plotters against Trump to escape justice.

Last week, Barr alluded to it and other investigations and said that’s why he would decline a lot of the questions they wanted to ask....then they really started attacking him because he didn’t indict President trump and wouldn’t assuage their fears of what a true investigation would produce...against them and their’s..

Note that there have been over 80,000 SEALED indictments filed within the last year or so.

And what, the boneheads can't figure out how to open 'em up?

Do they need a letter opener or a pair of scissors?
Are they in Manila envelopes? Are they at least labelled
accurately so a couple good ones could be pried open?

Amassing a big ol' pile of super-glued indictments is,
I'm sure, a hella great accomplishment for somebody
but so far they seem to be just eating up file space.

We need to set the table? Get good judges in place?

Well hell, maybe Pee-Pee the toad needs to quit hopping
around hollering "KOK!" at everyone and make some shiznit happen.

Yes, this post was simply a vehicle for my Pee-Pee the toad line.

Carry on.

I believe that they were waiting until the Meuller Report was issued. Now that that obstacle has been removed, I hope that information will begin flooding out.

Also, curious to me that it is a “FISA-Carter Page” investigation.

That is because the original FISA warrant was issued to surveil Carter Page due to his past work with Russians in business (and possibly for the FBI).

That warrant, in its renewal, was expanded to the Trump campaign.

Then, the unmasking of Americans took place as electronic surveillance on Russians was taking place even though no crimes were alleged.

Trump was never told about this. In 2008, when a Russian agent was in the McCain campaign, the FBI told McCain and they removed the man from the campaign. The same courtesy was never extended to Trump because it was Obama/Clinton pulling the strings and they saw it as a way to get dirt on Trump and win the election.

Bottom line....... is abuse illegal and prosecutable?

That is the question?

Devin Nunes: 'Hidden' passage in Mueller report shows scope memo tainted by Trump dossier

(excerpt)

House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., revealed where in special counsel Robert Mueller's report he says "Clinton dirt" tainted the Russia investigation.

During an interview on Fox News, hours after the 448-page report was released, Nunes pointed to a "hidden" passage on page 11 that addresses the scope memo for the yearslong investigation.

"When you look at what happened today, remember we talked a lot about the scope memo. What were the directions given to the special counsel? Well, we now know hidden on page 11, very thinly, still veiled, but we now know they used the Steele dossier, the Clinton dirt, the Clinton-paid-for dirt as part of the memo for the special counsel that directed the special counsel what to do," Nunes told host Sean Hannity.

*snip*

Nunes said the report showed Mueller's investigation was prompted to investigate Page as well as former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort due to the unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

Thanks. I understand that. It’s just the change in the characterization from what we’ve heard before that I found interesting. Not sure that it means anything.

Meanwhile, I learned from Tony Shaffer, which I hadn’t realized, that Susan Rice, as the head of the NSA, would have had to sign off on the original surveillance into Trump’s campaign — as well as that Trump should absolutely have been alerted to such a supposed (wink, wink) threat:

Horowitz isn’t a DS, he is investigating them. They’re nervous.

Secrecy in ongoing investigations is vital, for many reasons.

They should Samatha Rice since obviously she is a weak fearful link as to unmasking and FISA.

The fascinating thing - and this tidbit only came out recently - is that Mueller’s team basically tried to obstruct this probe at every chance, claiming privilege over all the classified info Horowitz wanted to see ... which is why it looked like he was doing nothing for over a year.

I was replying to the above, and can you clarify that in light of your comment to me:

The OIG offices of every department are authorized separately by Congress from their parent organization and answer jointly to their respective secretary and to Congress itself, rather than to the Executive branch.

Note that the procedure is for indictments to be issued as evidence is uncovered by the IG rather than wait for the completion of a report.

From what you said above, it does not sound as though Horowitz could possibly be prevented from accessing info by a Special Counsel, as the OIG investigations don't seem to be in any way related to the SC. And the second part, I never read that the IG had the authority to indict, am I wrong there? I thought the IG recommended and then DoJ would do the indicting.
