Mexico warns of 'deep concern' over armed groups on U.S. border

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico said on Saturday it had “deep concern” about armed groups that intimidate and extort migrants on the border, shortly after the ACLU and Democratic senators called for a probe into such citizen efforts to block migrants from crossing.

“These types of practices can drive human rights abuses of people who migrate or request asylum or refuge in the United States,” Mexico’s Foreign Relations Ministry said in a statement, referring to “militia groups” in New Mexico.

It added that patrols “on the margins” of the law create risks for the safety of migrants.

On Thursday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico condemned the United Constitutional Patriots, which patrols the southern U.S. border in New Mexico, as a “fascist militia organization” operating outside the law.

I suggest we stop “intimidating” and “extorting” migrants who cross our border, and start shooting them dead on sight.

I guess Mexico would be satisfied then, right because, as we all know, we really should give a rat’s ass what Mexico thinks.

If they stay on their side of the border, there is nothing to fear. Besides, to Mexican officials their only value is as a remittance machine

I would lose about zero sleep if a couple ACLU lawyers were to get themselves killed on the border area.

Does the american certain liberties union also “condemn” the illegal crossings and the crime and fraud that follows?

The concept of a “citizens arrest” is well established in medieval common law and is older than the country. Pound sand Mexico.

The concept of citizen's arrest dates back to the Middle Ages. At Common Law, a private citizen had the power to arrest another for conduct which was either a breach of the peace, or a felony-level offense, if committed in the arrestor's presence. As long as the arrestor did not use excessive force he was immune from legal claims for damages from the incident such as assault, battery or false imprisonment. In more recent years, some states have enacted specific statutes outlining the parameters of a private citizen's right to interfere with the actions of another. New Mexico has no statute on citizen's arrest. Instead, our courts have continued to recognize the Common Law concept, ruling that a private citizen can detain a fellow private citizen when there is at least probable cause to believe that the fellow citizen has committed a felony-level crime or a breach of the peace in his presence.

But armed drug cartels on the Mexican border are A-OK.

The cartels of Mexico are profiting from the illegal immigrants. Extorting them. Imprisoning them. Raping them. And then paying off these whining bureaucrats. They must be joking that a few Americans stopping them at the border comes even close to what Mexican criminals(politicians)are doing to them.

Apparently rape, extortion and murder is okay on their side of the border.

Hmmm?! Dems counter with “Come on in. We don’t care how many folks show up. We’re working on disarming US citizens as we speak.”

If Mexico considers this a human rights abuse than Mexico itself is guilty of human right abuses as they refuse to take in these migrants nor will they help them.

In any event it’s not a human rights abuse - the migrants can attempt to legally enter the country through our embassies or via the checkpoints and request asylum.

Flagrantly crossing the border and demanding money, shelter, healthcare, transportation and voting rights is illegal.

Not anymore - PayPal and gofundme blocked them all because it “violates their terms of service” - that is, trying to conduct monetary transactions while conservative.

Democrats and socialists demand net neutrality - I proclaim a new term - money neutrality. Banks and processors must not interfere with the flow of money or the ability of the individual to practice trade and commerce.
