Somebody (eg William Barr and Supreme Court if necessary) better put a stop to this shit right pronto!
Generally, laws have to have some practical effect in order to make it a court case. The state laws are vaporware so far.
If some effect is imminent, it’s possible the USSC could preemptively make an ‘ex parte’ ruling, but likely it will await a normal suit after the laws change state outcomes. Such a suit would be expedited as an emergency.
WELL SAID!!! This bullsh!t has gone on too long!!
I’m not convinced the Supreme Court would stop it.
The Constitution gives state legislatures wide latitude in determining how a state’s EVs are cast.
This is what happens when we allow our schools to teach less and less about history and American civics. To graduate high school, a kid should have to be able to write down the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights perfectly from memory, and swear on oath to protect and defend them.
Because the compact only goes into effect when they reach enough states for 270 electoral votes, the SCOTUS cant do anything about this right now. No one can because the law is not in effect.
If it ever does reach 270, we may descend into civil war. Itll be a total chaos.

I agree. All states have their electoral votes apportioned by population. Each state has proportional representation in the national election for president. The state awards its electoral votes to the candidate who WINS THE POPULAR VOTE WITHIN THAT STATE! The state that overrules that democratic principle would disenfranchise the majority of voters within that state by voting for the candidate who got a minority of votes in that state. Totally unconstitutional.
What amazes me is the absolute abject stupidity and ignorance of voters and legislators who would support disenfranchising their own voters. Every state is an independent legal, geographical, and political entity and as such needs its sovereignty protected due to the constitutional checks and balances delineated in our founding document
