LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - Pride and patriotism were on full display in Laguna Beach Tuesday night where a crowd packed City Hall to throw their support behind the new USA-themed decals on Laguna Peach Police Department patrol vehicles.
There was even a moment during the meeting where most people broke out in song, belting out the Star Spangled Banner.

But apparently, not everyone loved it. The decals prompted criticism from a small minority of the public who said the stars and striped are offensive, and aggressive, particularly to immigrants.

The “small minority” demands a most disproportionate voice in the public square. Sure, they have freedom of speech, and freedom of their beliefs, but that does NOT prevent others from exercising those same freedoms.
“Freedom of speech” also gives others the right to ignore or challenge you. Turns out, that can take a pretty nasty turn of events.
Choice of two responses. First, either get your mind right on what the majority are saying, and respect their beliefs (though you may still disagree), or take a hike and settle somewhere down the road where you may live with others of your like opinions.

In the end those that opposed when counted couldn’t fill a phone booth.
But it turned into a national news story.
You could have over 10,000 people at a Trump Rally and 10 people outside protesting and the media will focus on the 10 instead of the 10k and give them equal time when in fact the other side was not equal in number to begin with.
So true; even the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 was a tiny minority of activists in Russia imposing their will on millions.
Had to vote on it. That’s a darn shame.
As we’ve seen with Trump, the left isn’t like us. They don’t walk away and say ‘better luck next time’.

Overnight stay in laguna b circa 85. Step out of shower and heard familiar voice on TV. It was my former army commander. He was commenting about airport security as he was with FAA. I sent him a letter saying after 15 years he looked the same. A few weeks later I got a response in which he said said he showed the letter to his wife telling her see I am the same man I was 15 years ago! We had a long laugh about that and caught up on our careers. Maj Gonzalez was one of the good guys who had his head screwed on and his lights were on.
No doubt the complainers were the ones waving the Guatemalan or El Salvador flags as they invaded our country.

The open border works both ways. No one is forcing them to stay in the USA.
Im from the area and I was concerned here that the city would cave as there is and laguna has always been known as the Berkley Beach Town of the OC. Glad to hear this news!
I grew up during Vietnam and watched all the USA haters getting famous on my family's black & white TV. I still believe that if you hate the USA that much, you should GTFO! Don't let the door hit you in the a$$!
