Presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg (D) was recently confronted by two protesters shouting about the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Two protesters interrupted Buttigieg, who is openly gay, during a speech in Fort Dodge, Iowa, shouting about the two cities that the Bible says were destroyed by what it calls sinful acts, including sodomy. They were both quickly shouted down by a crowd of 1,650 people chanting the South Bend, Ind., mayors name and escorted out of the area by security.
ADVERTISEMENT "The good news is the condition of my soul is in the hands of God, but the Iowa caucuses are up to you," Buttigieg said after the first protester was ushered away from the crowd.
"Remember the beauty of our democracy. Everyone here gets the exact same voice and vote. Feels like the numbers are on our side," he added after the second protester was removed.
When asked for further comment regarding the protesters, Buttigiegs campaign directed The Hill to the candidates statements during the event.
Buttigiegs sexual orientation has been thrust into the spotlight in recent days as he feuds with Vice President Pence over the former Indiana governors stances on the LGBTQ community. He was particularly critical of a 2015 law Pence signed that allowed businesses to use religious liberty as a defense if they believed the government was infringing on their exercise of religion. Critics said the law would allow businesses to discriminate against the LGBTQ community.
The vice president is entitled to his religious beliefs, Buttigieg said Tuesday on CNNs New Day. My problem is when those religious beliefs are used as an excuse to harm other people.

Actually millions of people who call themselves Christians will eagerly vote for him.
Does Mike Pence's religious views give anyone AIDS?
+1
Perhaps he should school Omar on Islamic Terrorism.
He believes God “made” him gay, what do you expect? Instead of respecting the construct of free will, fundamental to Christian theology, and that one controls ones actions.. having some desire does not make someone something.... Acting on it is not GOD, that’s you...
I have no issue if you want to exercise your free will to defy God’s teaching, but don’t try to wrap your sins in God, and claim they are his fault.
Most Catholics would vote for him. He sounds just like our priests. And seems to resemble them in other ways as well.
They certainly would and he certainly does.
Is he saying he ain’t responsible for commiting sins, that his sins are G-d’s fault?
He believes God made him gay, what do you expect?

Yep.
Good thing he doesnt believe God made him to where he is attracted to children.
Any perverted person could say God made him that way. Its just a way of pretending to not be accountable.
